I know it seems like a minute detail, but do you guys have a favorite SC1 tileset?

My personal favorite is the platform. I just feel like it is the classic setting for any epic Starcraft Battle -of-Races. I make up scenarios in my mind as I am playing (single player, mostly) and it makes it feel like the battle I am fighting could be something really happening in the Starcraft universe, at the same time as the campaign.

If I play as Zerg, I feel like I am doing the job of infesting a platform as a launching point to infest the planet it orbits
If I play as Terran, I feel like I am fighting back the hordes of Zerg to protect the planet or buy time while the ion cannon charges or something like that so the transports can get away (cross-reference, lol)
If I play as Protoss, I feel like the uber-intelligent alien race that has to come and protect the naive humans and eradicate the ****ing Zerg before they take another planet, and that the Terran are just jumping into the fight as rookies who have no clue what they are doing and I've been fighting this goddamn race of alien pestilence for eons

Conversely, Badlands and Jungle are retarded.

    What about you guys?

I love winter immensely, so unsurprisingly I prefer the Ice tileset.

Ashworld is nice, but only if you're not up against brown Zerg :D I don't like winter because the lights and the resource counters look odd.

I like the twilight tileset because of its color scheme.

    Jungle. Twilight a close second.

    Desert is my least favorite.

It's a tie between Badlands, Ice and Ashworld, so I can't really vote.

Desert is my least favorite too.

Badlands and Jungle. Twighlight is hard to focus cuz of the colours, and platform is just boring.

Jungle because I'm in love with Lost Temple.

    Least favorite? Probably Ashworld.

Platform, then Jungle. They're the only ones with three full levels of elevation, and Platform is the only one with three levels of buildable elevation. Platform has several bridge sizes, different kinds of elevated terrain, different kinds of ramps, platform, dark platform, plating, as buildable terrains. It has a lot of variety that allows levels to be interesting.

While Twilight and Desert have nice color and doodads... they're not really as flexible.

I'm not a fan of the Ice/Desert. The units just look...so...weird. It's like they have an extra outline on them, like an outer glow. Not sure why or how, they just look different.

I never really had a favourite. Platform was a great standard tileset, as was Badlands, and really captured the feel of StarCraft, Installation was fantastic for missions of UMS games, Twilight had a spectacular range of colours as did Jungle, Desert, Ice and Ash World. There were none that I loved, but there definitely weren't any that I hated.

Yeah, those stairs were always annoying, always just thinning out your already thinned numbers. Especially with the shoddy AI of StarCraft1. Here's hoping that StarCraft2 will either have better AI or wider staircases.

Platform. I still remember some of those missions inside some "buildings" that were in the platform theme, and those were so scary. Everytime I think about them im getting scared to death... (when you play them at the age of 8 then its not funny...)
Edit: Was instaliation that tileset? Then I voted wrong damn it.
