Lots of anime is fun to watch, I usualy will watch a series within a week if i find it interesting in the first couple of episodes.

Please post some of you own favorate shows because i want to watch something that is good and i havent seen before.
Ive watched a lot of them like bleach, hellsing, FMA, hayate and many more i forgot about.....
recently watched DearS based on imagines recomandation and that is what I made this topic for, recomendations for something to watch. Im a man of broad tastes i will watch anything as long as it is good. action, ecchi, comedy... Usualy the only thing that turns me off any given anime is bad drawing or if it is too kiddie-like

    Plz help.

BTW for all the evil mods out there.... I know this almost seems like a duplicate topic but those are more about anime in general. this is my own self help topic.

EDIT:10 minutes and no replies :( i will try watching something called "claymore"

Some older ones I've enjoyed are the following
    -Outlaw Star
    -The Big O
    -All of the Tenchi Muyo's.
    -All of the Gundam's
    -Trigun
    -Ronin Warriors
    -Rurouni Kenshin
    -YuYu Hakusho
    -Cyborg 009
    -Neon Genesis Evangelion
Ya.. thats all I can think of since most of the anime I watched was on Toonami in the older glory days. Can't remember one excellent one that appeared on the same network.

I've seen claymore, it was good.  I don't like the ending though.  It deserves a second season!  The thing about the ending I don't like is that it is very anti climatic if it is the end.  There is definitely story they could use to make a second season.  Unfortunately I'm not aware of any plans to make a second season, but I might just be ignorant.

Some animes I've seen and liked.

Elfen Lied:  Short, 13 eps but is my favorite anime.  It is quite sad and very bloody.

Berserk: It was good for the most part but the end is a bit of a downer.

Monster:  I haven't actually finished it yet, I've seen up to ep 63 and I think there are 9 more.  It is quite good though not much action

Blood +: It was good, I liked the ending.  I would recomend watching it although it starts out kinda slow.

Chobits:  It was an ok anime.  Not really my prefered genre though.  Its a bit of a romance, with robots.

Bleach:  Still airing and is overall very good.  Good action not many fillers.

Naruto:  First 100 eps alright, after that it was filler hell.

Naruto Shippuuden, much much better than Naruto, that's all I really have to say.

Wolf's Rain:  Simply beautiful and sad

    Trigun:  Very entertaining anime.

    Cowboy Beebop:  Also very entertaining.

    Outlaw Star:  Likewise very entertaining

Ghost in the Shell:  Now this is among my favorite animes.  Great action and great setting and story.

Death Note:  Very good but I have complaints about the ending.

DearS:  Like Chobits but aliens instead of robots.  I also have some other issues with this anime.

Full Metal Alchemist: a very well down anime with great story

Rurouni Kenshin:  Supremely good anime and the ovas are amazing

Hellsing/Hellsing Ultimate:  Hellsing is done and is again an amazing anime  Hellsing Ultimate is still being produced and covers much of the same story but different.  Both are based on a manga and from what I've read Hellsing differed from it a great deal while Hellsing Ultimate is much closer to the original.  Also the only anime that is actually better dubbed.  You may think I'm insane but it is true.  Both have the same character design and voice acting.  WATCH THEM BOTH!

Samuri Champloon:  A very funny and entertaining anime

Kenichi:  Also not really my genre but was suprsingly good after it got going.  Kid learning to fight

Hunter X Hunter:  Started out good, but took a disapointing turn.  I have only seen up to 45 or the 60 some eps as I got tired of it.  So much potential story gone to waste.  First part is good but who ever was doing the stroy killed it.  :upset:

Uninhabited Planet Survive:  I've only seen the first part of this anime so far, I'm in the process of watching it.  It is good so far and I don't expect it to get bad any time soon but I thought that about Hunter X Hunter as well.

Avatar the last air bender:  I hate myself for watching this fake anime but its actually quite good.  I was very skeptical of it and the first few eps were a bit blah but it got good.  My only problem is the humor is quite childish but not actually in bad taste as compared to say Dragon Ball.

I'm tring to think of all the other anime I've watched of the last 10 months.  I never really watched anime until this year and I've watched a lot.  If I think of anything else I'll mention it.

    Edit:

InuYasha:  This anime gets a lot of flack but I really enjoyed it.

Jin-Roh  Wolf Brigade:  This is an anime movie that I really liked.  I recomend it.  I've seen other movies based on anime series but I haven't mentioned them.  Any anime's that I've mentioned above that have movies I've mostly seen and enjoyed.

Devil May Cry:  I forgot about this anime, and it wasn't even that long ago that I watched it.  Thx for jogging my memory Meee.

Scry-ed: Again I forgot this one, although I've only seen the dubbed versioin. I know, its evil but I really wasn't motivated enough to go find the subbed ones. Not because I didn't like the anime, its just I can be lazy.

Bleach, Shaman King, DBZ and Devil May Cry, also some eps of Naruto, Hellsing, Death Note, FMA, Neon Genesis Evangelion and maybe something else. I find reading manga much less consuming so I mostly do that.

Hellsing rulez.. And I agree....Watch the dubbed version, it's amazing. The subbed version is good, but the dubbed voices actually fit better.

I used to like Bleach, but I think the first season was the best. Not a fan of OMG He's the chosen/invincible/most powerful one ever stories (Yeah, it bugged me in Hellsing too)

I started to watch one called Hellgirl cause my buddy thought it was good. It was a way awesome idea, but it wasn't too well executed IMO. Watch a couple episodes, see what you think.

I haven't seen too much FMA, but what I've seen of it seems to be pretty good. I like the animation too....It's not totally and completely over the top.

Oh oh, and I've only read two mangas. Hellsing, which was kick ass, and one called Bizenghast which isn't a real manga (American), but it's the same style and way trippy. I want someone to make an anime outta it :(

    Trigun
    Death Note
    Rurouni Kenshin

These three I highly recomend, escpially Death Note and Kenshin. (I only saw a little bit of Tri Gun, I missed probably more than half the anime :( but from what I saw it was still a really good anime)

    Naruto Shinpuden
    Yu-Yu Hakusho

Both of these are good animes IMO but they are the type of shows that some people would like while others will really really hate. (Also as a side note, Yu-Yu gets alot better late late in the show but its still good in the begging.

hmm... Rurouni Kenshin, Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist, Cowboy Beebop. are a few ive watched and really liked, but right now im watching something called Ranma 1/2, pretty old show, first episode came on in the 1989s, ive seen at least a few episodes of about half of all that have been said for. out of them all Ghost in the Shell confused me the most but after i looked into it a little i found out that i started in the Stand Alone Complex series.

yes! im finally back, my comp. kicked me off a few days ago and wouldnt let me for long (only letting me about 5-10 min) on untill now. ^_^

    Gundam Wing

Ok I'll tell you this now, it probably will start out slow for your tastes and I will say that its a mech anime. You know big robots fighting and normally I hate these anime normally to, but once this anime gets started it is awesome. Also unlike most anime it has a very good ending. It is a old anime and from what I remember its not the best in like quality (becuase its old) buts still a must see IMO.

Also I just remembered this one while talking in chat.

    Trinity Blood

Yep its a show about humans and vampires. Unfourtantely I have not been able to see the whole series but I've seen enough to know its a really good anime. Lots of fights and pretty good story. (I think I do have gaps in the knowledge since I havent seen them all but it seems good) Oh and just a bit of waring there is a fair amount of blood in this anime just to anyone who doesn't like that type of thing I figured I should warn you just in case.

Gudam Wing? Seriously? It's like watching a thirteen year old trying to figure out how to be deep. I’m not even sure if the pilots had personalities (unless you count whining). And as far as I remember, it didn’t have any twists.

That being said, try Gundam Seed Destiny. Even if you don’t like the dialog, you’ll still probably finish it ‘cause everything is so pretty (who knew mankind would be so effeminate?).

But, if your looking for something a bit more recent, try Code Geass. Its as shameless as it is interesting

Death Note is a fav, and The Last Exile was very well done.

After all that depressing stuff, try out Vandread, Irresponsible Captain Tylor, or The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (and maybe Mar).

    Nadesico is always worth watching

    Erementar Gerad is ok.

Any of the zoids should be ok.

    X is…there

    Azumanga Daioh is popular

    Eureka Sever is ok

    Escaflowne is great

    Full Metal Panic is good

    Mai HiME is…umm…distracting

    Detective Conan

Crest of the Stars, if you don’t mind nothing happing for a few episodes at a time.

By the time your done will all of those, star craft 2 will be out. Last year.

i love eureka seven,, it just simply involves every various imaginations that you could put up to plus the story and character development are way OK for me... i was amazed at how good they portrey their emotions through the background as it was also alive.. all the elements good abstract expression can simply be observed with the way that they show the action scenes and also the emotions of the various characters that they developed throughout the show.. its just simply what i want... after the NGE series ^_^ coz im more of a sci-fi type watcher,, and the OSTs were just plain perfect for that masterpiece...
    just love it..

I just watched another anime over the last 2 days, Last Exile.

Now this was a very good anime, I mean top notch. It is beautifully animated. The story is quite captivating and carried out fully. The story is rich and full. The main story line is at the center of every episode. There are no fillers and the plot progresses at a steady rate through out the 26 episodes. All sub plots run parallel to the main plot and aid with character developement, they are also closely linked to the main plot. The character developement is well done but is not really the focus of the anime.

I'd also like to say a few things about the characters. There are quite a few characters, about 18 of some importance. All of the characters are introduced early in the anime with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions. Perhaps only about 6 of these 18 characters are of real importance; rest are present and play a role but the story does revolve around them. Also, none of the characters really have exagerated personalities. While the characters are all unique, none seem extrodinary or over the top, with only 1 exception, that being the lead antagonist.

The action in the story is fast paced but not over the top. Action occurrs in about every episode and often involves large scale battles. It tends to focus on the main characters as would be expected but it also shows the larger picture.

The setting is a very interesting feature of the anime. I won't get into detail as that would give away some of the story but suffice to say, there are a lot of flying machines and they range from small 2 person fighters to huge airships, and I don't meen blimps or zeplins either.

It is an extremely well balanced and well done anime. That's why I watched all 26 episodes in just 2 days. Definitely worth watching.
