Why does it seem like Terran don't go for the fast expand nearly as much as Zerg or even Protoss? I know Zerg need it, but I see Protoss go for it as well much more than Terran. Is there any reason behind this or does Terran strategy just not involve that as much?
Terran forces are alot weaker out in the open compared with toss or zerg, until they get enough maras terran has to stick around their ramp.
Simple because we have slower production, we usually close the choke point if we go MMM we like to make sure we have a strong defense and possibly tech up. within the first 20 mins of the game we dont have enough minerals to expand
Terran, if played right, can survive off 1 base for a very long time thanks to the MULE. Early-mid game, I can support 3 rax, 1 factory and a Starport constantly pumping units out with 1 base.
Definitely because of the MULE on the minerals. Terran can operate on one mineral patch easily in the early-mid range of a game. However, the hardest part for me as a Terran player is switching gears from early-mid strategy into a late game strategy. Timing my expansion correctly from a macro standpoint is very hard for me. That's why I try to wall in to avoid being scouted, and then concentrate on playing aggressively for a mid game win.
