I could tell this is going to be one of the most badass games of this year. An open world shooter, huge game world, sandbox gameplay, realistic environments. I really can't wait till E3. This, Spore, and Fallout 3's the only reason I even care for E3 anymore.
I am kinda looking forward to this game, but I don't get why they even bother calling it FC2. There's no Jack, no Crytec studios, and, hell, no genetically enhanced monkeys! This game is basically set in a totally different universe! They should just have created a new franchise. I get the feeling the only reason it's called Far Cry is that it will increase sales. Looks awesome though.
That's true. I was expecting another tropical island game but they gave us an African savanna, which is even more awesome. Graphics are amazing, that for sure.
Yeah, nothing's wrong with the new setting for instance, the promise of 50Km2 savanna and desert to explore is just sick. I just think they could call it something else than Far Cry. I read an interesting thing; when things go generally good for you, the sky will be clearer and sunnier and when things go bad for you the sky becomes dark and cloudy. Pretty awesome.
Bigger Cry? I've read a lot about it in PC Gamer magazines (I love you subscription) and it gets so detailed down to effects that one of the PC Gamer guys lit some grasses on fire, and then let the wind carry it to the bad guy's camp to create havoc.
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!?!?! NUTS I think I'm gonna have to buy a new computer just to do that...I'm such a pyro
in the name of all things sacred...I MUST get this game. It plays to the stuff I like in games...open-endedness in an FPS. Stuff like that is why I fell in love with the Battlefield series so much - ships, tanks, APCs, jeeps, MGs, flak....you could jump into pretty much anything and play levels in so many different ways. This definitely takes it to the next level though. I hope that it has a long single player because I feel like I've seen games where they do really innovative and cool stuff, but because they do, the single player tends to be too short.
Heh, you want a long single player? One of the guys at Ubisoft estimated that the single player will take around 50 hours to complete.
I have the game. It's fun, and gets very enteresting later on. The only downside is that it takes TOO much time to travel between places. At first it's cool, you encounter camps and jeeps, but after a while it gets tidious.
