So do you ever fall asleep thinking about SC strategies. I find myself just going over games in my head and thinking about what I did wrong and how I could have fixed it over and over until I fall asleep.
ste, you were not dreaming! zealots kill marines! until marines are massed.... then yeah..... or the marine runs away and shoots.......
A single marine can't kill 1 zealot. It takes 2 marines to kite a zealot, and chances are one of them will die. Marines and zealots have the same speed and a zealot only takes 3 hits to kill a marine while a marine takes 29 shots for a zealot. If you go zealot heavy army, armor upgrades are way more important than weapon upgrades against a terran bio ball since a +3 armor zealot will take 59 hits from +1 marines to die without counting guardian shield in. On bigger armies pure marines will own pure zealots with same amounts of upgrades and same army sizes population-wise, but still take into consideration that a marine heavy army is too much of a victim to a few HTs or colossi due to their heavy splash damage and the tiny amount of hp marines have(a pair of zerglings has 70 total hp also taking overkill damage twice, while a marine with combat shields only has 55). On the other hand, even with charge a zealot will beat 2 marines quite comfortably( they're bound to take those 3 hits fast enough) but 10 zealots will easily lose to 20 marines with stim, and stim's quite cheaper and lower tech than charge. Still I don't think that the P army has trouble with the terran army, seriously... It's not only marines on the one side nor zealots only on the other.
lol 10 zealots would still lose even to 10 marines without the upgrade. I am so ashamed of the warrior that trained for how many thousands of years to be beaten by rednecks.
No, 10 zealots can't lose to 10 unupgraded marines if micro is equal on both sides... It's a matter of movement speed and time lost to attack animation: Marines have the same speed as zealots, so a zealot takes a specific amount of shots to reach a marine, which varies in number based on micro(The hit+run tactic you see some pros use minimises that shooting animation allowing for a few extra shots). At the point where the zealots reach the marines, then for every shot the marines shoot the zealots will slash them once too. Given that it takes 20 shots to kill a zealot's unshielded life, and only 3 zealot hits to kill a full hp marine without combat shield, simple maths dictate that the zealots will win. They will not be cost-efficient though and more than 5 of them will die, resulting in the marines earning their cost in damage done...
You counted or you searched for that? (Talking about it taking 29 shots to kill a zealot by a marine)
It's simple math, actually, lol. 100hp with 1 armor(so the marine does 5 dmg per shot) takes 20 hits to beat. 50 shields with 0 armor takes 9 shots(6dmg a shot) to kill. The extra 4 points of dmg(or 3 if armor counts, I'm deffinitely unsure what happens with dmg that kills shields and moves into hull dmg) are less than a whole shot(5points) leaving 20 shots to kill the 96-97 remaining hit points You don't need to count, or google it, lol
Lol - According to my fiance; apparently one time I sat straight up in bed and yelled "what are you doing!?! you're Terran! Terran's are supposed to dig! dig!" Then I started laughing my *** off and went back to sleep.. She knows nothing about starcraft to make this up. lol.. Gotta stop watching those sc2casts replays before bed.
