The Kuvasz! Until now I honestly had no idea what kuvasz's name meant and thought it was just one of those names that the user just made up, but it all makes sense. Kuvaszok are a Hungarian breed of dog, and kuvasz is Hungarian. How much more evidence do you need?

Is this link true and am I the first one to figure it out? Or is this already common knowledge and I'm the naive, ignorant, and above all, last horse to cross the finish line?

Lol, well I knew this.. But only because I am hungarian. So.. Nice find :)
And I also don't have a clue why did he choose this nickname, but I am happy with it.. That is how I realised that I am not the only hungarian StarCraft player.

Oh and kuvaszok is the plural of the word.. Interesting mixture of english and hungarian :)

I googled "kuvasz" like half a year ago but I doubt that a lot of people have done the same, so I don't think you were alone all this time.

I thought it was just a completely made up one, like...... Jubentio or.... Kladnab... or something. It does make sense now that I know it has a meaning. Either he's an avid dog lover, particularly of Kuvaszok, or he just likes the name. I'm rooting for the former.

@ GasMaskGuy. I found it scrolling through the 'List of Dog Breeds' article on Wikipedia. I must have overlooked it a couple of times though. Either that or it was just added recently, which I doubt is the case.

Or maybe he feels like an underdog.

Oh !@#$! Why'd you have to remind me of such an awful movie! I never saw it, but the trailer was extremely anger-inducing.

I thought it was just a nickname for him.

Didn't know it was something real.

Fascinating theories there :) It's actually a coincidence with the dog breed because I'm more of a cat lover.

I'm not sure why I got this nick. Someone called me this at a LAN party where I was dominating at UT and they probably wanted to call me kurva but decided otherwise half way through. Or something like that.

I never would've thought this thread would be about this though :D

Well that word isn't such an insult. It's as if you called a friend of yours bastard or mother****er in a joking sort of way, which is totally acceptable.

I've been using this online/gaming nick ever since that LAN, which was about 4 years ago.

Well kuvasz I don't think they use this word too often, actually I haven't seen it written anywhere for months now :) And the last time also was on MSN I think..
I have seen the "örömlány" version quite a lot tough :D

What on Earth is örömlány?! You'll have to slow down all this Hungarian talk for us English speakers. Assuming it's Hungarian that is... Is it?

Yes it is, if you know the meaning of "kurva" you know the meaning of that. it is just the "oficially" used version, the one kuvasz said is " a bit" more rude :)..
Well I may explain.. Örömlány is a woman who's selling her body. Guess it is clear now..

Ah, k. That makes a lot more sense now. I'll just remember it as the dog breed. It's probably safer.

So is Kuvasz often linked with kurva? Or is it just like the word 'hoe' in English?
