error code 5 with DVD & on downloaded installer.

Hello everyone,

This is also my first post on this board, and I'm having a pretty frustrating issue. I bought the dvd brand new and tried to install and got the infamous Error Code 5 at 51% install. After a few more attempts and a third of a can of compressed air, I resigned to downloading the installer. 6 hours later, I attempt to install via the downloaded install, and again I get the error code 5 at 51%.

I have plenty of hd space, and am running on a home built pc. My Dxdiag is attached below.

Anyone have any ideas?
