Eragon, Eldest and Brisingr

I love the series, have all the books and have first movie, can't wait until they make Eldest!! Just finished reading the series for a 3rd time, I still cant get over how

I haven't read the third book yet, first 2 were great, but the movie was below my expectations.

 

I have Brisingir and have Eragon and eldest on Itunes and its my favorite books.
The movie stunk, really bad, really really bad, they didn't even make it remotly close to the book.
I tried the Demo but it wasn't right.

 

I've read 'em. They're not too bad, though you can tell that the guy was only 19 when he wrote the first one.

My one complaint is that it's fairly simple. This isn't a bad thing, and I'm not insulting anyone, I just prefer higher fantasy, with more of a real-world consequence thing, where the good guys can actually screw up big time, and stories with more political maneuvering.

 

I was just thinking of the Bobby Pendragon series, and all his screw ups and how much it matches what you just said.

Anyways, the Inheritance series is alright. I have all the currently out ones.

Like The Sword of Truth series?

I've read Eragon. It's alright, but it's a pretty simple hero's tale.

 

i love the sword of truth series. TV show ruined it.

 

Sorry, I was just thinking people had read it...How can the movie suck?? It was AWESOME!!! Not as good as I would have liked, but still good. Saphira looked like a bird, what with her wings having feathery sorta things underneath?

 

sucked as in, hardly followed the book at all. How the film differed from the book:

Brom died differently
Durza didnt ride a dark magic dragon in the book(though i did like this)
they kept running from the raz'ac instead of chasing them like in the book
towns were left out
Galbatorix wants Eragon dead, instead of captured alive
the raz'ac were subservant to Durza instead of the king
most of the last third of the book didn't exist in the movie(part inside the mountains)
Ayra tells Eragon to stay with the Varden, when in the book he's supposed to head to the Elfs

If the movie and characters had a different name, then I would never have seen any connection plotwise bewteen the two.

 

I agree, a lot of the book and movie didnt coincide with each other.

 

Plus...Arya is nowhere near as an "elf"

and her personality is diff.

 

Eragon for me is like too short... theres lots of points where it could have been much deailed.... 6/10
