Does anyone know any tips or strategies when versing the computer AI in custom matches? In SC1 I use to defend and wait until the AI ran out of minerals and then attack them. But depending on the map that sometimes is really hard to it. Has anyone finished the campaing in SC1 without using cheats at all for any missions? I can do most of them in each campaign.
Which AI are you talking about? The blizzard "Very Easy" AI, or something like the Starcrack AI? Pretty much all of the AI's have horrible horrible micro. It is very possible to destroy armies twice the size of your own with proper micro... so minimize your spending on static defenses. If you play like you would against another real person, you will likely kick ***.
There is no AI to play against, at least not in a legit version of the beta. Which is, by the way, not even playable at this moment. I suggest you take this discussion elsewhere, as cracks are not allowed on this forum. Or any real fan site, for that matter.
I don't understand the problem? Playing against AI is inherently.. not-fun. The only reason I do it is to practice, since the beta is down and I have no other way of playing SC2. Blizzard is not losing money or anything because of my playing against an AI.. I will most certainly buy the game, when I have the chance - at which point I will stop playing against AI except maybe when I have no internet. What exactly is the problem?
I guess some people are AI'ers. I know people that just play the campaign over and over every day and play vs the AI. Casual players.. although with bnet's matchmaking system there is no reason not to play online...
Anyway, AI is AI, play against it like you would an actual person for practice or learn the tricks for each system, more often than not you can micro it perfectly in an emergency
Ok. So know one actually know if there will be custom matches in SC2. I am not talking about cracks I am not a cracker or hacker or anything like that. In SC1 cheats were available to use in the singlepalyer only. I never played SC1 multiplayer much because when I first got the game I had a really old computer with crappy internet and when I got the computer I have now I didn't think people still played SC1 online because SC2 will be coming out soon.
Not only does this not seem relevant to the thread or anything mentioned in the thread, but it also makes no sense rhetorically. Are you making a statement or asking a question? Are you saying that we should "know" something? Are you saying "no one" actually know(s) about custom matches? Are you asking if "no one" know(s) about custom matches? What are you trying to say?
"Ok. So know one actually know if there will be custom matches in SC2." there will be custom matches in sc2, even in the beta you could play against the computer, unfortunately the beta only had "very easy" mode available
I'd like a F***ing reason to why my post was deleted. Again, shorter this time; this forum is just as "real" as any other fansite. Thus you're not thinking when you're saying that cracks are not allowed on a "real fansite". Define real. Supported by Blizzard? If so, totaly understanable. But then again, why supported by Blizzard. And is this site really?
I don't see anything in Bold print on this site saying that talking about cracks isn't allowed. Only advertising them I believe is forbidden.
So, now that Lobster is banned and no longer a member we can openly make fun of him? P.S. I fully understand why MY post was deleted . @Zaner- Eh, he might not be a native English speaker. @DoSrs- Yes, just watch a few of these. Although you should of tried searching the forums first and this is not the right topic for that question.... you noob . I get the feeling that even the non-cheating starcrack AI cheats. They mass units way quicker than any human opponent I saw in silver. It does some really impressive thing though. If you use your scout to attack a miner, it responds like a human. I remember the SC1 AI sending all of it's workers at your one scout, never breaking chase. I once sent a prob to follow a retreating AI scout (yeah, they scout) expecting it to show me where it's base was. Nope, it actually ran my probe around the map. If 3rd party AI is this good, I wonder how well Blizz has it geared. EDIT: I must not know what P.S. means.
