EMP Burst on the Ghost

Karune posted a comment on the Ghost mentioning a EMP Burst Ability. Judging from the name it would be a small EMP wave and despite being content with the already existing Ghosts Abilities I would like that, especially since it would allow them to change the Nomad which honestly is just a Science Vessel by another name.

 

I really doubt that it would be a copy of the EMP as we know it. Propably only single target and/or weaker meaning it wouldn´t drain all energy/shield at once only a part.

Although it would definitely make sense for the Ghost to have a EMP burst missile.

 

Jeez, if they get this they are the all in one unit. Bring in troops, big explosion, taking out single units, anti-shields/machines, stealth. They are VERY well rounded.

Now if they could only get the black suits back...the white just looks too much like...idk, a clown and a ghostbuster mix. Seriously, look at Unentschiedens' avatar. That is a ghost.

Anyways, I really like how versital the ghost is. Fits the Terran real well. It should be a major unit for any Terran player.

 

Ghosts rely on their stealth equiptment, there is no reason for camourflage. Ghosts always had a white uniform, psychological reasons maybe. Once you see them you know who and what they are...
The Portrait is simply a result from the light, looks like he is in some kind of instalation...

yeah, and you even forgot the drop pod and snipe ability! (btw they don't have lockdown in their current state)
If they get the "EMP Burst" ability, they will be TOO allround, i think that the EMP ability should remain a nomad/science vessel ability. Man i hope they get back the SV or just come up with something new, the Nomad looks terrible. :-X

 

Yea, it should probably be a Nomad ability. The Ghost already has way too much stuff in his pocket.

Agreeing with the above post, bring back the Science Vessels!

 

Lockdown=What an EMP would do in real life. I think that's what he means.

 

I think that an EMP burst with a lockdown ability would make a lot more sense, and would have a much better animation than the lockdown in SC1, because that bubble thing really doesn't make sense. Basically, it would be the phoenix after overload animation for the protoss, and for terrans the robots would spark a bit and slump down.

 

i would love to see lockdown back, however i just don't like the idea of emp on ghosts, even they have pretty much the same effect in real life

 

why not just give the Ghosts a portable yamato cannon lol XD

but i kind of agree with Praetor Fenix.the emp would do in real life what the lockdown used to.maybe they are planning on bringing the Lockdown back...

 

hmm... yeah, maybe they bring back lockdown but it also drains mana or something like EMP, so they renamed it to that?

 

dunno,it could be a possibility,but it would make lockdown too overpowered...

 

no you see, everything can be balanced. so lets say it also drains mana. This can be balanced by making the powerdown time shorter, etc.

 

I've always loved EMP but I like new ideas more.

Oh and yes, science vessel looks 1000x better than the Norad. Don't bring the vessel back, just make the Norad more floating installation/repair bay like.

Or bring the sci vessel back, "I got my Zergling right here..." was uttered in a science vessel after all.
