Australia's Eminence Symphony Orchestra, which gained notoriety worldwide from its viral videos of music played at its A Night in Fantasia concerts, has teamed up with Blizzard Entertainment, creator of World of Warcraft, Diablo and StarCraft, to produce an album of rearranged orchestral music.

for the people who know Eminence this will be great news. For the people who don't know them... youtube them immediately

The album will contain tracks from the original Diablo (including everyone's favourite acoustic guitar track), StarCraft, Warcraft III and World of Warcraft (including The Burning Crusade), but also tracks from the yet-unreleased Wrath of the Lich King, the StarCraft II trilogy, and even Diablo III,

As a game music fan myself i'm quite excited by this.... how about the rest of you ppl in the forum?

haha! Yes I just found out about that yesterday! Pretty cool for me as I too, am a video game music fan. It'll be cool to hear some of Blizzard's music! I actually can't wait!

 

hahah i swear blizzard has the most unappreciated music pieces and this would be a good way of appreciating those pieces.. and as a bonus you wouldn't mind listening to them

I've heard of them before. Being Aussie and all. This should be really good. Something you'd really play more than once. But on a quieter volume as mood setting. I dunno but I always found D1's Tristrim or the blood more from D2's music really soothing. I might just buy these.

the sample tracks on the website are amazing so i have high expectations for this.... only wish the starcraft sample track was longer though....

 

Wow! I've really been waiting for something like this. I'm actually going to be ordering the "Legendary Edition" soon. Thanks for informing me of this.

Do you happen to know when this will be released? I know one of them is supposed to coincide with the release of World Of WarCraft: Wrath Of The Lich King but I read that the two editions will have different releases.

Echoes of War LE is already out, now the standard edition will be out on the 22nd.

If I had a bit of extra money to spare I would buy this for the sole purpose of seeing what they put on it lol. I can't believe blizzard made a music CD :x

No. Comparing to other symphonies, they are well-known. When you introduce a celebrity or other person or group, you are entitled to say they are well-known. You can do this even though that person does not know of that certain thing. That's why it's called an introduction. They are, in fact, a well-known symphony regardless of music preference or that individual's knowledge of them.

 

I have to agree quite well known in their home country of which I am a part of.

 

I wish they didn't press and ship these from Japan. That makes the delivery time almost unbearable. I'm dying to get my hands on this but the estimated delivery time is about 2 weeks .. even though I payed almost 15$ for shipping

 

holy **** i just got my legendary edition (which took ages to arrive, what i felt anyway) and the thing is worth the price and the wait. Who else here got theirs or ordered them? Cause now u can look at the poor souls who don't have it and bask in your superiority

 

Yes, I ordered it, but have yet to receive it. It shipped on November 17th. When did yours ship? Imports (from PlayAsia) usually get to my house pretty quick so I'm a bit worried that it got lost.
