I just don't understand people. I played my first two ranked games tonight and I went against a Terran who massed marines, yes thats right. Massed marines. I lost because of the unexpected, even tough I scouted and saw a TECH LAB. I then got stuck with the same player ( good job Blizzard ). Who did the exact same strat, I scouted more and rushed to high templars. I smoked his units in one storm. (Thanks for the achievement) I literally thought he had me a second time, but my high templars just got enough energy by the time he broke my front and killed my nexus, I rebuilt it and was able to keep one shotting his marines. This guy had played 180 games, and had about 70 wins. I got to his base, he hadn't even expanded, he failed at placing his tanks. I then got into a game with a random. Ending up zerg, I scouted and saw his pool go down a little late, I was planning on pushing out after making some zealots. I then see 2 drones fly into my base. I immediately grab all my workers, and surround one of them, he gets one of my gas. The thing is, he hadn't scouted out my worker in his base, I immediately decide, if he wants to play this game so will I, I quickly grab his two gas. He declares " I lost ", I ask why and he then sends all his drone to die to my zealot front door. Why do people just give up, I have ran into many people like this, it is kind of sad.
yeah i have as well, there was this one guy called cleetus. I destroyed everything from his base except the command center and a horde of vikings that he had. My army was mainly inf so i biult 3 starports and reactors to get him, then he starts harrassing me saying that im a loser and that he wont leave. Needless to say i killed him, but man he was an asshole.
I had a a game where the other player sent 10-12 lings at me as a first push. My lots cleaned em up at the ramp and he/she left. Sure, I killed off the initial attack, but there was no real reason for him/her (too PC?) to believe my counter attack would wipe him. ****, could've waited to see if I even would counter... for all it knew I could've been a total noob and tried to turtle in my main. I imagine it's just people trying out specific build orders and once it fails or succeds they got all they needed out of the game.
Or it's just people who know they are beat early on and leave. And don't want to have someone treat them like a noob just cause they have no hope of winning.
Those guys will mostly be people who know that they have a buildorder made for a good opening/early rush and hope to win with it. If they won't, they don't know what to do anymore since they got no clue about counter-strategies (which units against which?) and never played to midgame needing to re-tech. Never learnt, don't want to. Just looking for an early win, if they don't, leave/rage quit and go to the next game with exact the same tactic and see if that opponent will be more noob then they are...
