Ever played games that will flip your stomach to hell for its humor? I recently got me self a copy of the game yesterday after work and started playing it at home. The moment I begun playing, it's as if time has stopped and the world froze between the game and me... (Started playing the game 9pm gmt+8 stopped playing 5:30am and wasn't able to come to work out of fatigue for this craze. I was listening to Michael Jackson's album zombie earlier while playing.) This game is another franchise for the Atelier (French for workshop) series which basically revolves around the life of being an alchemist. The game is a sim-rpg genre and it definitely is an addictive game. Annie is main character, a lazy female that is dreaming of getting married to a wealthy prince so that she won't have to do work. She was sent to an island to participate in a contest to turn the island to the perfect get away within 3 years with the Current Prince as a Prize groom. Alchemy will focus on synthesizing materials, weapons, accessories, bombs and various materials that will help your economy boost up. You are required to do 2 assignments a year and will be rewarded bountifully, this reward will be used to renovate and establish resorts for the island to improve. Life on the Island is very entertaining, you will meet various characters that each had their own stories and roles to play. Resort like Park, Beach, Museum, Theater, Hotel & Bakery are the possible establishments that you can purchase and along with your fame, you can increase and renovate them by using alchemy to give the demands of the consumers. The games battle system is not a major part of the game but still necessary for gathering items and finishing quests. Some mercenaries and friends will be able to accompany you during such tasks. After 3 years, the king will announce who the winner is and receive the title of Grand Meister and be the fiance/fiancee of the Prince/Princess. This is a heavily scripted fun rpg game, and if you want to getaway from dungeons, dragons or space aliens for a while, I would recommend you to go get a copy of this game. Life on the island is definitely an experience. I will now get some sleep and will come with a good excuse for my boss who is certainly to bust me up later.
Finished that one during the Japanese release.. that was a good one but it tends to be boring on the long run... (Ive maxed out all the characters with respectable equipments - favorite was Cecil) I'd say its not as epic as playing other fighting games such as SF4 or MVC2. But overall a good fan service and gameplay.
