I DL'd it last night, played through it.

It's pretty short (only three 'dungeons'), pretty easy (only Zombies, Imps, and Cacaodemons), but not bad for a work in progress. It's a pretty good mash up of the two to be honest. You have all the Doom stuff: Graphics, weapons, enemies, settings. At the same time though you've got a Diablo-esque interface, character pane, inventory, and equipment..

Hey, I was being serious. :D

It's one of the most famous games ever, and is considered the most influential game on the FPS genre. It basically got the genre going. It came out one year after Wolfenstein 3D (both games developed by id software), which is considered the first real FPS. For over 4 years after Doom's release people called all FPSs Doom clones, before the term FPS became widespread.

The game is a gory, eerie, fast pased shooter with a soundtrack that rocks to this day. You missed out Marc. You missed out big time.

You can get Doom 1 off Steam or Xbox Live Arcade, but Doom 2 isn't on XBL.

There's too many games to tell you which ones are worth getting. :D It depends on what genres you like, if you're into multiplayer, singleplayer or both, among other questions. XBL is short for X Box Live.
