    I am wondering if my specs can run starcraft 2.
    I am not looking for amazing graphics, merely amazing game play.
    I will mainly be doing 1v1 or 2v2, playing competitively. I won't really be focusing on campaigns or huge map battles.

    CPU: Intel pentium E2140 2140 @ 1.6GHZ Cure2Duo
    Ram: (Upgrading to G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
    GPU: VGA POWERCOLOR AX3850 512MD3 RT
    PSU: PSU ANTEC|NEO POWER 500 500W RT
    HDD: HD 500G|WD WD5001AALS

    OS: Currently windows xp, upgrading to windows 7 64bit.

    Will i be able to play smoothly? thanks.

    Or perhaps i will also need to update my CPU, and if so, any good cheap upgrades?

    Your CPU is gonna bottleneck. Upgrade. Other than that, yeah.
