Do you think the story will ever end?

There will probably be an expansion, but after that? Blizzard tend to leave bits open so they can make sequels but I am not a fan of cliffhanger endings. I like solid conclusions (and usually happy endings).

If blizzard make sc2 a cliffhanger, that'll be fine if they release an expansion not too long afterwards. but if I have to wait 10 years.. I'm going to be pissed!

 

They didn't leave that much of a cliffhanger after Brood War. It was just a "less-than-happy" ending with a secret mission about a mad scientist's deranged plot.

 

I know, sc1 was OK. but I mean diablo 1 was a cliffhanger.... I hope they don't make it like that!

They should keep the story going, but it will be difficult to keep it from becoming tedious and repetitive.

 

The story itself probably won't end until like SC4 or something. Although heroes die eventually, they will always bring in new characters. If they better integrate the story into its missions then it probably won't become boring so soon.

Jim Raynor: Alive
Edmund Duke: Dead
Gerard DuGalle: Dead
Alexei Stukov : Dead (revived in canon, but it doesn't count)
Samir Duran: Turned zerg, but actually never was human (Xel'naga? Borg? )

Protoss:
Tassadar: Dead
Fenix: Dead (Twice!!)
Aldaris: Dead
Zeratul: Alive
Raszagal: Dead
Artanis: Alive

Zerg:
Infested Kerrigan: Alive
Overmind: Dead (Twice!)
Zasz: Dead
Daggoth: Dead (merged in the 2nd overmind, who's dead)

More than half of the original heroes is dead already, I wonder what they will come up with in sc2.

 

I have a 90% gut feeling that kerrigan will die at the ending for SC2.
I also want Arcturus to die and Jim becomes leader with Terran Dominion.
They should bring back Fenix's soul or something cos i miss him

Lets start a petition to bring back Fenix, and put him in an Immortal, because it's only fitting that he should be immortal. Also, aside from the fact that that's not gonna happen, I also think that another major character will die in Sc2 or the expansion. Who shall it be?

 

Actually, you never really find out whether or not Daggoth dies. Kerrigan says that Daggoth organized the creation of the second Overmind. She didn't say that he actually became part of it. Read the Protoss mission 4 (I think) briefing.

That's good, I would LOVE it if Daggoth is still alive, I prefer playing as a cerebrate under the command of Overmind or Daggoth, Kerrigan just p*sses me off, She's just way too cocky.
Anyway I hope she can die as soon possible in the SC2 story and Daggoth create the 3rd Overmind.
If she doesn't die, lets hope she'll revert back to human.

 

I can't remember Daggoth's motivation He was a cerebrate, and it's rumoured that he's still alive. Was he extremely loyal to the Overmind's rule?

 

Yea, and he was pretty damn jealous of Kerrigan as well. I think he was the number two before she came along.
