There are so many ways the Nydus Worm can be used against both prottos and terran to take out bases, you can compare a good nydus worm to a perfect nuke. Do you actually use Nydus Worm? :D

I do as often as I can! because of the low HP and somewhat long build time (plus the fact that it unloads one at a time), i usually use 3 at once. it'd be awesome if it did splash damage to buildings and units near it when it emerged....offensive nydus worms!

I'm not sure which race to play, i like zerg alot because you get to scare people with scare tactics, such as the nydus worm. But I dont see the unit flexibility they would need. what do you think about the usage of units?

    A bit off-topic, but I can't say I disagree with you!

In regards to nydusing, I'm aware that the order they come out of the worms depends on the order they went in -- i've not been able to tweak that to get the unit distribution I'd like (like Blings followed by lings then hydras), so I've still got to work on that.

RE Units -- I like most of the units, but it's hard for me to not fall into the mass ling/Bling army....just like it was hard for me to not go mass hydra ling in SC1....the other units are rather expensive (hydras take a lot of mins, air units require ungodly amounts of gas) or limited (roaches are cool -- but its hard to effectively micro them to take advantage of the burrowing healing, can't hit air targets)

My last few games, I didn't even bother with a roach barren -- i'd rather use my gas on a ranged unit that can take out air targets!

I think the units are cool though...the infestors (IMO) are only good for mass spawning terrans during a surprise attack...the only reason i even build a pit is to tech to a Hive.

Brood Lords are awesome, but waaay to expensive for me -- and the one time i used them it was because i had basically already won and wanted to experiment.

For me, it usually comes down to the right mix of specific units...

Yes, I use Nydus worm quite a bit.
If I see an open hole in an enemy base, I use it.
All I do is draw the player's attention somewhere else while my Nydus worm gets itself ready.

It doesn't work all the time, but when it does, I either get a lot of damage in, or I get a GG.

I've used nydus a few times, mostly on Megalopolis behind the smoke against players who guard the front but dont have site on the smoked area near their base.

yes, esp when the opponent is also zerg, also quite effective with protoss, sucks with terran coz of sensor towers

Zerg will have Overlords all over the place by the time anybody techs as far as Nydus Worms. I'd say it's the most effective against Protoss.

they'll have ovies, true, but if they're anything like me, they keep forgetting that you have to turn ovies into overseers to get detection!

Nydus worms do not require that kind of detection to see.

And provided the color is only the size of an unsightly pimple, and not like a money shot from a bukkake film (at which point you spotted that worm too late and have already taken it in the face).

Hmmm, they really shouldn't have changed it from a Nydus canal to a Nydus worm. I swear I didn't make these kind of cracks in SC1, but I can't seem to help myself with this.
