So about thirty minutes ago I decided to break out my copies of SC and BW and install them on my laptop. I put the SC disc in and hear the drive humming. Okay, it's reading. 5 minutes later, the drive is still whirring, and nothing's happened. I figure restarting my laptop might do the trick. I restart it, put the disc in again, same thing. I try going to the family computer to see if it works there. I put the CD in, and wait. The CD has been in the drive for ten minutes, and nothing is happening. I even tried going My Computer --> (D: ). It said "Starcraft (D: )" but clicking on it yields no response whatsoever, on both computers. What do I do?

Is it vista your running on your laptop? Because with my laptop, which runs vista, it takes an hour before the install screen appears.

It's Windows XP on both computers. I don't get it...

    rant below -__-
Seriously? this is f*cking bull****. I've shelled out $100 to buy five Starcraft Battlechests, two corrupted, one lost, and one thrown away without my permission. And now this fifth one isn't doing what I wanted it to do. All I want is to play some god-damned Starcraft! Is that so much to ask? How can a 4 year old PC and a 3 year old laptop not run a 12 year old f*cking game? I swear to god, I'm going to hold a Blizzard employee at f*cking gunpoint until a) he reimberses me for my $100, or b) he gives me a fully function SC:BW file on flash drive, that when plugged in will always download available updates, instead of sitting and stagnating to the point where it won't let me ****ing play online

I had trouble with it on mine as well...
    sucks for you,
Why dont you download it through blizzard?
you only needed 1 key and all you have to do is register the game with your serial number and download it
you download both of them sooo....

Go to battlenet --> Create account --> Add game (type your key) --> DL the game from blizz.

You can now play game without discs.

I don't trust those downloads. I tried it and I got one that was one patch behind and I couldn't patch it to the current version because blizzard kept saying the copy they gave me couldn't be recognized.

    You have the CD-Keys, right?

Register it, and download the online ver, which is auto 1.15.2 and needs no CD.
