...Starcraft II is STILL running slowly. I just got a new Macbook Pro about 2 weeks ago, and it's a 17". Here are the system requirements for Mac. http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=26242&locale=en_US My computer meets the requirements EXACTLY, down to a T, for the RECOMMENDED specs, not just the minimum ones. Despite this, I can still only run everything on Low, and even then, a popup message says that I should consider running it lower. I never have any programs open when I run it aside from Finder, which is always open anyway. Why would this happen? Any fixes? Also, that being said, I HAVE done software updates, so I know that it's not that. The only things I can think of are driver updates, would those be separate from Mac Software Updates?
I tired finding drivers for the Mac, but nVidia doesn't appear to carry them on their site like they do their other drivers. I am clueless with Mac's, so I have no idea on how to check to see if the driver is updated or not.
Yeah, the OS has its own updates that it does. I asked the IT guy here at work, and he said that under the "Power" options on the Macs' system preferences, there's a place where you can opt for higher graphics performance when plugged in, which will take the usage limit off of the graphics card. I'm going to try it when I get home, and see if there are any changes.
Does your Macbook probably just match the requirements for CPU und memory, but not the graphics card?
No, the graphics card is an exact match to the one on the box. I found that opting for "Higher Performance" in the Energy Saver options under System Prefs greatly improved my graphics capabilities, as I am now able to run the game on Medium. Possibly higher. For anyone with the same problem, it's an easy fix to a stupid problem.
