death animations!!

    i just noticed from the gameplay video that when the marines are getting cut to shreds by the zealots,their body will float,then half of their other side will fall to the ground and a huge splash of blood will spray in that direction then the other half will fall! imma keep watching and see if i notice anything else (not sure if anyone mentioned this,so dont flame :p ) what i mean is that they are litterally cut in half! i might as well confirm phoenix are able to attack ground as in the demo,it has two attacks in the menu,one for air and one for ground.

    i knew i should have made this thread *mumble mumble*
    anyway protoss seems to die the same but it aint easy looking at them when there are a lot of zerglings surrounding it
    also can i also mention the nydus worm
    when it dies it gets dragged back into its hole then the hole gets covered
    also did anyone notice any different death animations for zerglings?

    i noticed the zealots chopping marines up, i think thats super cool.
    i wonder if the zergling/marine death animation will be unique as well.

    Blizzard won't put too much detail into the death animation or otherwise the game probably won't get released until 2015 :p
    The more realistic approach relating the death of an air unit is needed. I mean it must be suffering pretty badly being attacked and finally come crashing down onto the ground. So though might blow up in mid air.

    i saw a piece of art in the broodwar game which shows all the zerg building on a space platform, and the creep tips over the edge into space, i hope they ahve that in the game, and then when the building dies it all pours into space.

    You mean Kerrigan's platform in the final levels of the zerg campaign?

    yeah, exactly,
    it looks really cool, i wonder if they will look back at that picture and have creep rolling down cliff faces and things

    Creep rolling down clifs would actually be a cool effect. Also, it would have strategic value in non-space games :)

    it would also be cool if bodies when on the creep didnt fade away but carried along in the flow.
    theres so much cool stuff you can do with the creep, i hope they get it right

    I think that that will take too much cpu power, not everyone has a big ass pc.

    well im gonnna buy a new pc for it, maybe in a year or 2 years when it comes out pcs will be good enough
    but tbh, it would be cool, but we both know they wont make the creep like that

    what if the zerg had a unit kinda like the lurker,that digs underground to attack enemies like that one insect in real life ( forgot its name :O ),you burrow it in the creep and when a organic unit runs over it he jump up and bring it under ( kinda like the kodos devour ability from WC 3 ) it be a nice def with sunken colonies.

    i was thinking that exact same thing, but a single lurker can take out many marines, but if we cahnged it to that spider trap, it just woundt be as good,no one would fall for it a second time,

    in the gameplay vidoes when the battlecrusiers get destroyed by the warprays is it just me or did the last battlecrusier got destroyed in a different way than the rest of the fleet

    I love when the barracs dies from the warp ray. The laser seems to cut it in half at the last second as it sweeps downward, and in turn the thing breaks in half. It looked really cool to me.

    Dawn of War games had a setting that bodys would never disapear. And i was able to play the game on my computer that is really not so great. So I dont think it would be to hard to do that on SC2.

    well, how eager are you to keep looking at dead bodies? it's pretty gross you know.

    blue blood from protoss units, red blood spewing all over from mass beaths of zerglings and terran marines... man.

    and imagine zerg units burrowing into those dead bodies. ew.

    It would make the game more realistic, instead of having bodys desapear for no reason. And bodys might have a use for SC2. Like medics can "rez" there fallen comrades, protoss might turn there dead comrades into some kind of Dragoon-Immortal, and Zerg can infest any dead body and turn it into something cool.
