I went with number 3.

They're both highly badass.

 

The Lenassa unit portrait is so much cooler, and the model is more stealthy. Also, dual scythes mean twice the green glow. Having one edge per DT is cleaner.

Hm, this might be a good reason to register...

EDIT* Well, all I had to do was log in with some information I remembered from the back of my head. (well ok I haven't memorized my CD-key, I looked that one up)

"Both" is currently holding more than 55% of the votes. Yikes.

 

i'd pick option 3, but i dont have a b'net account, since i dont have a legitimate starcraft cd-key

 

While I think both models are really cool, the single-blade model has a slight edge. That said, I would vote for both anyway for the sake of variety on the battlefield.

Love how much Blizzard is really paying attention to the fans for the development of this game!

 

I agree, it's huge of Blizzard to ask us this. Us helping adjust numbers during Beta is already awesome enough, but having direct impact on alpha stuff like art is just amazing.

 

I just voted for both, both of them are just amazingly badass, IMO more badass than the SC1 dark templar

I would say 3, but I can't be sure, since when we are playing the game, we won't be seeing them like that, they'll be cloaked. I'd have to see them in context to choose one over the other.

Although I was a purist before, I've become fond of the new model. Maybe DT Rushing so many Terran players in Paris has something to do with it =P

 

hell let them both stay, there 2 different tribes. and very cool. it would make for a nice story line issues since the protoss story will be based on deplomacy

 

Other than the fact (in my opinion) the first one looks unfinished, I see no reason why they shouldn't be chosen randomly. I chose 3.

Btw, if you look at the Protoss page - yep, that ugly icon is the official Protoss symbol now.
At least it appears so.

All those Blizzard employees with children who like to color with crayons and draw funny shapes and their not using a single one to come up with something better? I think Blizzard should use their better artists if they're going to make that thing the official icon.

 

how come the blade isnt green? i just noticed the the on bladed DT has a purple blade? is that team color??

 

Yes, it's team color from what I understand. Also, it makes sense since the Zealot's blades change with the team color. It' just another way to help distinguish the units on the battlefield when you're bombarded with colors and polygons.

 

Too lazy to register and vote, but I have a feeling option 3 will win out. Both models look great (the portraits I find kind of strange, since they look almost nothing like khalai protoss in facial features, but I guess that's understandable).

I think that the Zer'atai one looks amazing! Both the portrait and the model
But I LOVE the way the original Lenassa one attacks! OH MY GOODNESS!!!

I like the first one the best out of the two, i can't vote regardless because i cannot find my CD keys.

 

Holy crap, the results are terrible... Only just over nine for the Zer'atai, and with the third option being way out in front. That's like... The exact opposite of the order I would have gone in.

The Zer'atai just has so much more of a presence than the other, and its animations are a whole lot sweeter, not to mention how sweet the portrait was. However, if they were deciding which model should be used, all Dark Templar should use that model. I would much rather have all my Dark Templar using my less favoured model than have half of them using one, and half of them using the other, and I'm surprised they even put that up there as an option.

Seriously, hadn't the team taken out the physics-related deaths because it was too much of a distraction on the battlefield?And didn't they originally try to reduce the number of interceptors that the Carrier could hold because it hid too much of the battle? And wasn't there also something about team colours, and about how players needed to differentiate their own units quicker? Now they're using two different models for the same unit?

Grrg.

 

I'd prefer option 1 over 3.

The portrait is epic.

Purple warp blade is just awesome, i hope that is the normal colour.
