Blizzard asked for the public's opinion and the results are in! Based on the final poll numbers posted on Battle.net, StarCraft 2 will feature both models of the Dark Templar. Here are the final stats: Lenassa, 731 votes or 24.65% Zer'atai, 299 votes or 10.08% Both, 1935 votes or 65.26% Also, in more interesting developments from the UC Berkeley StarCraft course, the first class video has been posted on YouTube. While we find the lecture to be a bit strange and contrived at best, it's nice to see that someone takes it so seriously. Check it out here. I found that video the day it was uploaded due to VioleTAK being one of my youtube suscriptions for SC pro games commentaries. So, I guess Blizzard will use both designs in the game, as it got 65% of the votes.
I think contrived is an understatment. I am surprised they allowed such an odd course. As for the DT, I voted both, but I think maybe there should be an option for the player. Have these four options that they can select. Have all DTs be of one tribe or the other, have it randomized which one to pick, or have it be mixed. It can be a visual option you pick at the start of a game similar to your color.
Hey for once the thing I voted for was successful. I think that lecture was pretty cool, course as with any lecture I feel asleep, but nevertheless it was still cool.
I prefer the original DT but i like how they will use both. gives it a unique asset to the gameplay. like you have 2 units same hp and damage and everything but they look totally different. and just think you can have 15-20 of them and they would look like a sick ass cloaked squad of death. Now i'm wondering will sc2 have exp upgrades for units like. say killed 5 units the unit with the 5 kills get a small upgrade to attack speed or damage?
I voted both. We had this thread aaaaaages back about variation in the unit models, wonder what ever happened to it.
personally I preferred the "new" model, and about that video...that HAS to be a joke, are they really that serious? Come on people it is really just a game when all is said and done.
the video is serious, its a real university lecture for the Starcraft Class that started this semester at UC Berkeley.
