as seen in the home page of sc2, the dark templars became invisible and not invisible

I'm not 100% sure what you mean. In the Terran action shot, they're cloaked the whole time. In the Protoss action shot, they only become "uncloaked" because an enemy Observer flies over them, acting as a Detector.

If you're talking about the picture where they just pan around an immobile Dark Templar, I'm 95% convinced they only cloaked and uncloaked him to show off the mechanic and the unit model, and they will be permanently cloaked in-game, as they were before.

if u wait till the end of the gif image, u'll set an observer coming into vision. That's what made the DT visible. So to answer your question: DT's have cloak

Does this even need an answer? A DT without a cloak is not a DT :p

maybe they could either cloak or uncloak. uncloak dark templars gets high hp(tank), while the cloak one gets increase movement speed. ^^

Umm... I don't see any real reason or advantage for having the Dark Templars lose their cloaking. They're not designed at a high HP unit so giving it to them would be a little imba.....

Their entire purpose is to bend the light and be a powerful cloaking unit.

Pretty high-risk high-reward unit. Absolutely dominating and unstoppable if the opponant has no way to even target them. Their low hp makes them cannon fodder when revealed. Still looks like 1-hit kills on human infantry though, so thats nice to see (protoss wise).

-- looking at the clip..is it just me or does the groundform viking has a pretty long death animation?

@ slugonice , they're talking about the potential of DTs in SC2 to be uncloakable but I still don't see the benefit. If you uncloak they can see where you and thereby put scanners in place.

If they've ALREADY seen you and you can uncloak and have more HP, that's just imba.

Meanwhile, the Viking ground death is just an explosion from what I've seen.
