Ok, so I had another idea for a game this morning. I had this dream about cards and monsters so now it's time for me to reveal my latest game project: Cryptid

Cryptid: any creature whose existence has been suggested but not proven scientifically.

The game is simple. The year is 1900-ish (cause less strange animals were known then) and you are explorers trying to find unknown creatures. You play Creature cards and then try to play Evidence cards on it so that the existance of that creature will become proven. Diffrent creatures require diffrent ammounts of Evidence and grant diffrent ammounts of Reputation as an explorer. At 10 Reputation (or maybe 15) you win the game.

The creatures in the game will be varied. There are monsters from classical myths (centaur, griffin, unicorn, dragon, phoenix), modern myths (Yeti, Sasquatch, the Loch Ness Monster, Mokele-mbembe, Chupacabra), hoaxes (skvader) or real-life creatures that look strange (coelacanth, okapi, platypus, moa, marsupial lion)

A few examples of Evidence cards are: Footprint, Blurry Photo, Expert Witness, Good Fake, Coat of Fur, I Have A Live One

A few examples of Critisism cards are that counter or remove Evidence cards are: Gorilla Suit in a Freezer, I Made One Yesterday, Bad Fake, Fake Photo, Hoax Confession

I don't want to make it a collectable card game. I want something thats fun for everybody so it will consist of one big deck of cards on the table which everybody draws from. I'm thinking maybe a hand of 5 cards.

Now to the important part. What creatures would you like to seen in this game? What kind of Evidence and Critisism cards should I include? What can I do to make this a really awesome game?

should include the dodo, people thought it was a hoax and suits the 1900 theme

I think it is "Homunculus", but the Homunculus is not really a given creature, it is just a general concept in fantasy universes for an imp-like creatures, serving the mages, or a designed, made creature, living but not technically born (no parents, just built like any object), like golems somehow, designed by alchemists and various warlocks and summoners.

The concept is nice... but what would be the goal exactly? I mean, I have some cards and you have some others, ok, but who won and who lost? What about the battles, the possibility to gain new cards, to maybe trade some of them, get rid of some others etc, and when does the game finish?

The goal is to prove the existance of strange creatures and become famous (get 10 Reputation). I don't want this as a TCG, I know it would be perfect for that but I want this to be more of a family game, a social thing you and your friends can play and everything is supplied in a simple box.
