I personally would want to see critters get some importance to a game. Some attack points, some strategy?

blizzard already said no to this somewhere. i think its in a batch, because they wouldnt be critters they would be creeps. like in warcraft3.

Actally a small number of critters would make the game more dinamic.. And I don't mind if they are agressive, just make them easy to kill. And they must start in the middle of nowhere cus if you meet theem at the beginning you are screwed..:)

Yeah, put critters/creeps in there. Honestly, most maps that are played are custom maps, so essentially, their appearance would be user-defined anyway.

It sounds funny... Actually, you can parasite critters (in SC1), but they have an insignificant range of sight

Wow I will try to infest some. I never thought of that before. Maybe this could be a tactical advantage for the Zerg in SC2 with longer sight ranged critters they could explore the map.
I think it also would be a good idea if only a detector could see the parasites on the units.

I have nothing against random animal attacks as long as I don't lose a whole army to them (damn you EaW rancor you killed all my tanks)  The random factor does make it interesting I just don't want to have to spend more time fighting with the computer than my actual opponent.  It can really put a dent in your strategy.  Losing due to the random factor is a stupid way to go.  If they have it it should be far enough from your main so as not to be an early game problem.

If you ask me the only thing critters were ever usefull was being in the way when I needed to put down a building

aggressive critters would kind of suck. It would put an end to early rushes to mess up enemy economy and really be a drag when they stumbled on your base. Plus all they ever were was a nuisance that you killed in your spare time or to expand.

StarCraft2 is better with critters only.

in brood war you can mind control them, but they still can't attack.

I think that it should be an option in the custom map maker, but otherwise, I don't want them in the campaign.

I say put aggressive critters in SC2. But only have them become aggressive, if they are provoked. (i.e attacked by you)

That could work. Also have them provoked by splash damage

i hope they're not that powerfull... like able to take out a several of my units in wc3.
also they'd be useless in sc2 normal maps... they'd just get in the way.

You could MC them, but you couldn't really control them.

Also infesting critters isn't a bad strategy. If you infest all the critters that you find, you can scout the map in a relatively short time and run no risk of them being killed. (Unless someone hates critters)

/\ for some reason the computer always auto killed my critters after I had mind controlled them. I'm not sure if it's true that they show up as one of the player's units, but they always did attack them on sight.
