If you recall Duran's behaviour when he supposedly left his position where Zerg was detected and Stukov was talking with him then you know why I started this thread. I want to discuss if convincing voice acting is better than the ones that reveal the truth straight away, that is, done badly on purpose. The above example is one of the most outstanding instances where it's painfully obvious what the truth is, which in this case is that Duran is lying. Now, what I'd like to see in Starcraft 2 is that voice acting is done professionally, even better than in the top films of Hollywood where lies are still obvious. This must be possible since all films and roles are lies, so why can't lies be made to look true? I don't want to be suspicious of certain characters. I want to feel lied to/betrayed (if it is pointed out by a character in the campaign). Thoughts? This is not a duplicate thread as this is not concerned with the voice actors themselves but how the acting is done.
It might sound strange, but I like to get fooled in a good movie or book. -read Sherlock- So why not in videogames as well? I became irritated with the voice acting in that part as well. It was so obvious. Not only that, it was unrealistic as well. I mean, like Stukov was a retard or something, and failed to notice the obvious lie in the tone of Durans voice. I honestly hope that they leave that part of the epic storyline out: the common, fake Hollywood voice acting.
How could there possibly be any good plot twists if the characters that already knows what's going to happen has to make it so obvious? I'd quit reading, game, or watching movies if that happened. (Also, I don't think there's anyone on this forum bad enough to think this is a duplicate threads Another forum, perhaps, but this forum is overall pretty great.)
