    Hi,

I purchased starcraft 2 the other day and I still can't get the game working.

It installs correctly and updates but when I start the game I am asked to enter my battle.net username when I enter this it just doesn't move and keeps trying to connect to the battle.net servers.

I am currently running on Windows 7 and I have tried doing this with the firewalls disabled and it doesn't work.

My ISP is Sky and my router is a DG934g, I have added in the ports (1119,1120) and tried to put them in the port forwarding but I don't think they are working either.

    Can anybody help?

You should try if you can trace the battle.net server. Open a command prompt in Windows (launch program names "cmd") and type "tracert bettle.net". Does this find a route or will it hang up on any step?

I did a "tracert battle.net" and it failed on steps 21-30. Keep getting 'Request Timed Out'

On step 20 the last IP Address that it tried was 12.129.193.242.

I also tried "bettle.net" as I wasn't sure if it was a typo and it went through on 7 steps then went trace complete. Last IP address it tried was 94.136.40.82.

tracert battle.net doesn't work because some of the servers don't respond to pings. (I've heard.)

I've seen some threads about people who can't connect at all. There was one I think where it was SCII not playing well with a particular network card and updated drivers fixed it.

Otherwise, try running SCII both logged into your battle.net account through the website and also not logged in, and then try uninstalling and reinstalling.
