Yup, you heard or in this case read right. EA has confirmed Command and Conquer 4 is in development and will be released sometime in 2010. To put this in perspective, in the time Starcraft 2 has been in development EA has released Command and Conquer 3, an expansion, Red Alert 3, an expansion and now another one coming soon. A little absurd if you ask me because they have yet to get Red alert 3 or Command and Conquer 3 right yet.

GOOD MORNING :p Or maybe you in a different time zone. Oh well. This news.....bugs me. All the C&C units never seem to have really unique ideas. Usually its kinda like idk...... I cant think of the rts. All the units look the same and they just fire different lazer colors lol.

Gah, f***. Just when I though "Yeah, I could possibly buy this for variation" this is slapped in my face. If it means that every different person you play against has his own slightly tweaked stats attached to every damn unit, I am pretty much out.

Ya, I really have no idea what they are thinking. I mean they couldn't even get the last 2 games right and already they releasing another? In Command and Conquer 3 it was basically a mass one type of unit game for a long time. Then when Red Alert 3 came out it was ridiculously imbalanced for awhile. I think it is just EA pressuring them to get games out.

Command & Conquer: Generals was the last good RTS to come out of that door. Funny thing: That's the last game Dustin Browder made there before switching to Blizzard to work on SC2.
    I totally see a pattern.

Nah, after Westwood there was no "last good RTS".
    I'd say downhill after RA2.

Let's just pray CnC4 will be good.
I doubt it, but still a slight chance.

But I don't really care, CnC3 was a big let down, because I am a fan of the series.
I really wanted to move away from Warcraft 3 to a new RTS. Generals was a cool thing to hold you over, but CnC3 just didn't live up to my expectations.

Later, Red Alert 3 came out, and I thought that it would be something.

What we got was a poorly designed game with very poor units and crappy graphics, no to mention it was full with bugs and balance problems.
It felt like a kids game. The happy colors and the really poor units.
Flying pigs could have also been a unit.

I'm sick and tired of fast produced games.
But anyways, I don't care when SC2 hits the shelves it will replace all of my RTS games and new RTS games.

I've never liked a single game to come out of that series.

THey need to make Generals 2.
So far Generals is the only C&C branded game EA has made that hasn't sucked.

Yea thats true, it was pretty awesome gameplay wise. However it didn't have much support from the developers and had some crazy online sync problems. Other than that it was a pretty good game. I loved Colonel Burton in that rappelling down cliffs and all.

Yes, but what games DOES EA have good support for? Also I always had problems with C&C3 desyncing and lagging out and such on a faster connection that what everyone had when Generals came out, but that can be blamed on gamespy being an abomination.

New info has recently been released, here is a preview article from 1up.com http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3175527.

It says that they are adding a lot of new crazy features to the game such as respawning, and leveling up, as well as adding a enemy leveling system like in oblivion....I don't know about you guys but this keeps sounding worse and worse to me.

I actually think C&C4 sounds better now, and I kinda liked the screenshots. Looks way better than Red Alert 3.

Those features you mentioned aren't as nuts as you make them sound. leveling we already knew about, and the enemy leveling system like in Oblivion is just a countermeasure for people of too high levels trying to steamroll the campaign.
The respawn is neat for people who get annihilated in a rush and don't wanna sit through the rest of the game.

The UI looks better, and finally unit HP is being showed. I always hated how you'd have to guess that in previous C&C games :p

Since this is much less of a "regular" RTS, I can imagine this not overlapping with playing SC2, which is a plus.

Bit of a necropost, but way to funny to not react. How about the 54216738 expansion packs for the Sims? Anyway, C&C became crappy after RA2. Generals only not sucked after adding Zero Hour. The weird thing is, that's how the game was intended to be right from the start. EA rushes and crushes, just to get those games out every christmas.

Warhammer online gets pretty good support and its published by EA but its most likely Mythic that does all the work for it.

    Red Alert 2 was good...

Did you know Red Alert 4 is coming?

And did you know that C&C Red Alert original came out at around the same time as StarCraft, but THEY have gotten like 10 more C&C games, while WE haven't even gotten the second one.
