The red beam of the colossus doesn't seem fitting to protoss psi technology, I feel it should be a blue beam like every other attack in SC1... who agrees

I kinda do. Toss are moving away from all-blue attacks though- seen the Soul Hunters?

Blue fits more with Toss, but those red beams just look t3h pwn. Like sentinel beams from Halo, except good.

I dont know, blizzard seems to do a good job with changing things. To the fans it always seems like it will be too much, but once the game is out, you wonder how it would ever be without it.

i formed an opinion. take a look at dark archon shall we? it's red. the colossus itself is blue, but only the beam is red. i mean come on! we can live with that. it adds diversity

i concur! the lasers are not fire. so blue is INFACT not hotter then red. lasers have the same heat no matter the color.

Blue has a higher frequency than red so it should be just slightly more destructive than red (scientifically speaking). Blue looks better, I mean I'm not a big fan of the dragoons in SC1 but the blue phase disruptor surely looks better than, say, defiler's plague.

I wouldn't be surprised if different color sets create different beam colors, respective to each particular color set.

yes iv seen the soul reaper, and i dont like its attack much eather, im not saying that the red looks bad, but i remember whatching the vid when i saw the colossus it took me a while to adjust to the new unit.. then i saw the red beam (it looks good) and i couldnt help but think .." RED thats different" it didnt stand out as a protoss attack... i did a search to see what a blue laser would look like. its funny because even a real like blue laser makes me think of protoss. this is the kind of feel you get witch protoss, and i feel that red is not fitting

Really. I like how they are making the protoss more diverse and more dark.

Most structures in SC1 are bland and have the same colour. All protoss structures are sort of yellowish with blue crystals here and there. Zerg structures are mostly red-brown colour and sometimes a bit of green. All Terran structures are silverish. Now that's bland isn't it? ;)

A blue ray is obviously a lot more suited to the Protoss than a red ray. The red ray has too much resembles to the yamato gun. The 3 races need to be distincted from one another.

Red seems fine, if it was blue it would really wierd because the armour mixing in with the beam? Guys you got to realise its going to be protoss vs protoss aswell, so it might look bad :(

whats your point??? how is my opinion any diferent to the psi blades on the zealot, myb we should make their blades red to be differnt..

As for bland... maybe the standerd yellow should be greem, that would be diffrent, but not appropriate.. protoss are blue evergy weapons because they are powerd by the blue psi crystal

Well the Star Trek universe used a multitude of varying colors for their Phaser effects? Reddish-orrange was the norm, but then you got blue beams from the ships of TOS, the occasional reddish-orange which is more common in the latter series, then you get green for some odd reason coming out of TOS hand held Phasers and ship stun.

Is this even relevant? Maybe not, but blue seems to be the logical choice for beam/weapons fire color for the Protoss, what are they gonna do next, hmm? Change the beam color to match the player's color so that the units are more easily identifiable? :p

hehe they could make the beam the same color as your units, so if your color is red the laser would be red, and so forth.
