On Battle.Net there are 3 Types of Clans. Warring Clans, Gaming Clans, and Idling Clans. Warring Clans- Basically they use warbots to war and start stuff with other clans. They gather as many warrers as they can, and make a clan, and go around b.net warring other clans. *They usually die in the first 2 months, 3 months if they are lucky. People leave for the "NExt big warring Clan" Gaming Clans- Basically they game. Make games, host games, game for the fun of it. Usually they may have some structure to it. Much like Clan Empire, except all clans are different, ideas vary with the person who creates a clan. Idling Clans- Very few gamers, they will game, mainly just load bots, (Chat Bots) and just sit around and talk all day. Very little action, unless you are one of those types who enjoy just logging a bot on and chatting all day (Much like myself :] )
correction: there are no more REAL warring clans, since warring is dead do to private ops patch a couple years ago. We do however have; 1.War Clan Poser's: Like shadow said.. they dont last very long normally, since kids get bored and move on, this includes leader, but this is a practise among many clans. They claim to be warring, but essentially all they do it talk trash or forums(not this one) and post screen shots of Bots they have drops whom had Operator in a defending channel by loading lots of bots(whether it be load or flood) day in day out. Of course this can lead to the clan dieing, but its normally bragging rights and they are always flaky to begin if they die. Clan EMP does not war, since we know this reality of lameness, but dont get it twisted, we have connections and will get clans to flood your stupid clan if need be. (and our operators never drop) 2. Gaming: again shadow said is correct, but for serious gamming clans trying to make a name for themselves, there are requirements to join. this is important to remember. Clan Emp is a gamming clan but we do allow recruitment without a test, tho we will give one if requested. We have had B+ ICCUP rated players in the past, but overall are C class gammers not in it for competition, but rather pure fun. 3. Idling: Shadow hitt it right on the head, but as a side note, these are typically OLD Warring clans who did not leave Bnet, but idle because they cant except warring is dead (i use to be one). Tho, some I am grateful they didnt leave since they are all older, knowledgable and fun to talk to. Clan EMP is not an old warring clan tho it has 4+ years of history. I wont denie alot of members idle, but it is well balanced.
How often do you guys game really? Shadow asked me to come to your B.net channel one day and play some games, but all everyone did is sit around and talk, or upload bots. Also explain the ICCUP rankings to me please.
everyday We have members who play everyday, of course if your around long enough you will see this. Alot of our members are in school and because of that, when they get on during curtian hours they game and bounce.. in other cases(me) i get on and chat then bounce. On top of the fact Bnet is dead right now. People trying to form clans become dumb idlers and serious gammers dont join clans since bnet is so dry it isnt worth it at the moment. That will all change with a new release(if sc2 is as good as we all hope, as well as upcomming d3). We also lost alotof members over the summer because of summer vaca and sc being not fun enuff to play over a vaca... but thats bnet for ya. rank from D- D D+ C- C C+ B- B B+ A A- A+ Y, D- being worst, Y being best. (not sure if its why but there is something higher then A+). It works like ladder.. better your win/loss ratio is the better your rank. Bottom line is a few months into the ladder, D are crappy/semi-good players. C are decent/really good players. B are experts. A is pro. Y is god.
pretty much, im pretty sure anything higher then B+ you have to be someone korean... its science or something
