Took me long enough. This one's gonna be more open ended. Depending on the situation, I'll either give you a choice, or in some places, let you come up with your own for kinda more RP feel I guess. I'm also gonna add more people into, for motivation purposes.

Yawning, you roll over and look at your clock. It blares at you in big red numbers 1:32 PM. Good a time as any to get up you decide. Rolling out of bed, you pull on the jeans and t-shirt you wore yesterday. It's Saturday and you'll be damned if you have to work harder than you need to.

As you stumble down the stairs, your sister, Colette cry out.

"Oh my god it's a zombie!!"

Rolling your eyes at your sister, you plop down in your chair at the table with some bread and jam. You and your twin sister can't resist jibes at each other, it's part of being siblings.

"Don't worry," you reply. "You're safe from any zombies. They only go for brains, remember?"

Laughing, she finishes her lunch. Grabbing her keys and phone, she yells to your mom.

"Mom, I'm going to the mall with Janie. I'll be back around 7, later if we catch a movie, ok?"

After hearing your mother's acquiesce, she turns to leave.

"Hey, tell Janie I said hi," you say. You've been crushing on your sister's best friend longer than you care to recall.

Stifling a chuckle, your sister agrees.

You finish your breakfast, and wander into the tv room. Plopping down on the couch, you idly flip stations. After watching some show on Animal Planet about the power structure of wolves, you start channel surfing. Typical summer garbage is all you find. You decide to turn on the news, see what's going on in the world. Settling on the local news, you're surprised to see the mall live on the news. The announcer sounds panicked, you can't really understand her.

Suddenly, a massive fissure opens up in the parking lot. You can feel the tremors from where you sit, a whole twenty minutes away. The shaky camera zooms into the crack and you can make out things scurrying out of it. They swarm in all directions. From what you can make out, they're human shaped, but about half the side and a hell of a lot faster. Watching, you can tell that they can't seem to get into the mall. Maybe it's barricaded? Without warning, the newscast cuts out, replaced by those familiar colored bars and warning whine. Frustrated and not a little scared, you mash the channel button on the remote. It's all the same.

Desperate to know what the hell is going on, you run upstairs and turn on the radio on your clock. Fiddling with the stations, most of them are broadcasting the emergency scream. Finally, you find one with a voice. It's a repeating phrase, a military recording. It directs everyone to evacuate to the south. Similar canyons have opened up all over with unidentified creatures emerging from them.

Your dad bursts into the room, having heard the same broadcast. She tells you to grab all your things and get in the family SUV. Now. Grabbing some clothes, your phone, and your laptop, you throw them all into the car. You're about to get in when you remember.

    Colette's at the mall.

Do you evacuate and make sure your mom and dad are safe or do you try to make it to the mall and get your sister and her friend?

Janie (oh and that and that Colette person), I am coming for you!!

Can I add stuff like asking dad to drive me there (or do I have a drivers licence perhaps?)? Surely he too must be worried about Jan- ...his daughter.

Check to see if your sister's phone is on, if not, try to get there. All teens have a phone, and it's always on, that's common knowledge. But if you can't get a hold of her, try to get to her and be careful, and grab some things to arm yourself. the last thing you want is to end up zombie food or dead.

edit: agree with the above, but also try to call her phone first x3

Ok, quick clarification cause I have to go to work.

    A) She has a phone, but that's cause she has a job. You're a deadbeat and can't afford one.
    B) You do have a license and your own car.
    C) They're not zombies....They're ********

If the parents have cellphones, tell one of them to call Colette. If they don't get an answer (or don't have phones to begin with) grab your keys and them your going to get Colette and her friends. Agree on a rendezvous point.

Ditch your entire family and leave in your own car, to the south. Bring as many supplies as you can. A battery-operated radio would be great. Or use the car's radio, if it has one. Don't forget to get gas!

    Back from work. Consensus rule.

Grabbing the phone off the wall, you dial Colette's number. It rings three times, then clicks to answer. All you hear is the sound of footsteps running. You yell your sister's name into the mouthpiece, but there's no answer.

You grab your keys from your nightstand and your baseball bat (Aluminum!!) and leap down the stairs. You dad stops you, demands where you're going. You can tell he's torn looking in his eyes when you tell him. Torn between the chance of you saving your sister and loosing you both. Eventually, he lets you go with the promise that you'll meet at your aunts house, who lives about a day's drive to the south and west.

You climb into your car, pull out of your driveway and peel down your street like a bat outta hell. Making it to the mall in record time, you pull around back. As far as you're concerned, the further from the crack, the better. Slowly rolling towards the mall, you peer around, looking for those....things. Not seeing any, you grab your bat from the passenger seat, and cautiously creep towards the entrance to the mall. You can see where the humans tried to barricade it, but the hastily constructed wall shows signs of forced entry. Climbing through the hole, you take bearing of your position. Currently, you're in the food court. On your left is a food place, to the right is a wall, and straight ahead is the chairs and tables, as well as the rest of the mall

Knowing the stores in the mall, you figure that your sister was most likely in the North part of the mall (Straight ahead and to the left) because that's where the clothing stores are. However, on the southernmost side (Straight ahead to the right) is a Sears, the most likely place for the survivors to get weapons.

    Which way to go?

*I've decided to add a handy little map, so you know what's what. I'll update it with the location of the hero, and if you find C+J, their locations as well as any other eventual allies*

Sears, it's closer and I assume further from the crater.
Besides, how'd you look trying to save Janie with just a bat? Weapons add badass!

alright, head there but stick to the walls, better to not be surrounded on all sides. creep there but get the hell out atany sign of whatever those things are. you need to save your sis, not become a pile of gore on the floor.

Deciding that if ANYone in the mall had wits, they would've gathered everyone up and went to the most secure store, as well as the most blunt weapons. You decide to cautiously sneak your way up. Luckily, you haven't heard or seen anything that alludes to the presence of the....whatevers.

You're about halfway there, by the movie theatre when you see the first sign that they broke in. It's a mall employee, a janitor, strewn about in pieces. The sight almost causes you to retch. Quickly looking away, you cross to the other side of the concourse, so as not to track through his entrails.

As you continue on, you begin to see more and more traces of the creatures, usually in the form of a blood smear here, an arm or leg there. Nothing like what you saw before, but still enough to make you sick. You round the final corner, and see Sears. The sight heartens you greatly, as the thick gate is dropped. You can see scratches on the Plexiglass, but thankfully, no holes. You still haven't heard ANY movement, or voices.

As you inch closer, you can see the remains of what almost looks like a battle. There's what you think is seven humans (they're in pieces), and twelve things, most with their heads bashed in. So they are killable.

You go up to the gate and peer through it. Afraid to make any noise, you see if you can spot a human to let you in. Alas, no such luck.

How do you try to get in?

<.< Upon seeing the battle carnage, you assume the survivors are dead. You return to your vehicle and drive straight to your Aunt's house. I WILL REBEL FROM THE GIVEN PROMPT!

Look for an alternate entrance to the store (employee's entrance or something). If there isn't one, bash a hole in the glass with your bat and poke around inside.

Any estimate on when the next piece of the story will be posted, Fenix? I'm not trying to be obnoxious, just wondering.
