In order to be able to access the net I need to run it through a proxy as it's a university network. How can I change the proxy settings that SCII uses to connect to Battle.Net? I've tried changing IE's proxy settings.
Changing IE's proxy settings should allow StarCraft II access basic patching services, but it may not be able to log in if there is no "socks" server defined. Ask around and see if other people can play World of Warcraft on your network. If they can't, you may need to use a proxy tunneling service like wowtunnels to play StarCraft II. They charge a modest monthly fee for service (you can try it before you buy). ProxyCap still cost money up front if you need to use that. :/ If playing StarCraft II or WoW is allowed, talk to your local administrator on what socks settings you need to set. (If they don't know, ask them how people get WoW working and we can adjust whatever they say for SC2.) Follow the following instructions only after you have determined that playing games like WoW arn't allowed on your University Network. If you are forced to use something like wowtunnels because World of Warcraft isn't allowed, you can follow these directions for setting up wowtunnels with World of Warcraft. When you get to the part about inputting WarCraft 2's ports, instead do this: If you need additional help setting up a proxy, please refer to this thread, but post your questions in THIS thread.
