Please be more specific as to your installation problem. If the installation is stopping between 49-51%, please post in other thread stuck to the top of this forum.

I have installed the game previously and successfully. Played it all well, but I had to reinstall from the disc. This is where the problems started. I get the errors like this:

The installer was unable to read the file "fileset.IX86\Versions\Base15405\msvcr80.dll". This error may be caused by problems with the media or drive at <unknown>--for example, a scratched or dirty CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, hard drive corruption, or a networking problem while downloading the installer. (The error code was 0.) : DecompressJob::Execute()

Sometimes its different files. I have tried to uninstall daemon tools, disabled my dvd drive, check disk, update drivers of gpu and mobo, defrag etc. and still do not know what the problem is. It stops at 1-2%

When I uninstalled the game the first time I did run CCleaner's registry cleaner and so I might have deleted some values but I went into regedit and ended up deleting the values for Blizzard Completely while I was troubleshooting.

Let's start with drivers... somehow doubt that's the entire issue.... I would wager running a CCleaner is the biggest one.

What are you using for virus protection? If none, install Microsoft Security Essentials. Its free, awesome, and free. Best choice for free AV.

Newest Lite-On SHW-160P6S firmware. I highly doubt it will help if you managed to install already.

Newest BIOS for your eVGA NF68 motherboard.

Newest nVidia drivers. Yours are a year older.

Newest Realtek Sound driver. Yours are a year old.

Newest chipset drivers, currently not installed.

I'll wager that you may need to reinstall Windows 7, since CC may have screwed up more then just StarCraft II. Try running chkdsk to see if you have any errors on your hard drive, and run a virus scanner to check for infections.

    To run chkdsk:
    1. Run CMD as administrator (follow instructions)

    2. Once CMD is open as an admin, type "chkdsk c:" and let it run. If errors are reported, run "chkdsk c: /f" and when it can't force 'all open handlers' closed, keep pressing 'y' until it presents you the option of running on boot. Once you know chkdsk will run on boot, restart the computer.

    *edit*
Sorry to take so long to post this... I'm on my buddies satellite internet.. it cut out when it rained out.

Ok so I have installed all the drivers and they all updated successfully for sure. But that didn't solve it. I tried to redownload the game and install but again did not install. Tried to install on a Virtual Machine and weird enough that didn't install either. Ran Security Essentials and Check Disk no problems were found.

I'm preparing to reinstall the OS but is there any more suggestions? I think something happened with CCleaner as well...

It's your Lite-on DVD drive man. So many people have these crappy Lite-on drives and can't install SC2. Try using the copy to flashcard method which is described in this thread here. You will have to use another machine with a working non-crap Lite-On DVD drive.

Make sure to turn on "hidden files and folders" or you won't be able to copy all the files off your drive.

The thing is I have downloaded the game via the client and that didn't work. Then I downloaded a copy of the disc somewhere and even that didn't work once I extracted it. But i'll try that solution and see what happens.

Re-read that thread. I posted a massive write-up at the end of it before I closed it. If you downloaded the game, remove the StarCraft II installation disc from the drive, the installer will automatically default to that disc for some strange reason.

I have now installed Starcraft II. I minimized the installer while it installed and luckily it installed all the way.

Now I am getting a problem with the patch. Can't install 1.1 getting this error

    The update was cancelled.
Blizzard Updater was unable to read the file "Support\Blizzard Updater.exe". This error may be caused by problems with the media or drive at <unknown>--for example, a scratched or dirty CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, hard drive corruption, or a networking problem while downloading the update. (The error code was 0.) : DecompressJob::Execute()

I saw others were having the same problem. I disable my firewall as well as allowed the program in the firewall just in case. It downloads fine and the file is in the install Directory but thats the error when I try to install.

Sorry for the long wait for a response. I was sorting threw some personal issues.

That's just weird. Make sure you don't have the StarCraft II disc in the drive, it isn't needed after installation. I would assume your installation problem had something to do with the audio that was playing in the installer (hence the OGG error).

As for this issue, first try running chkdsk.

After that is done, go to Start=>All Programs=>StarCraft II=>StarCraft II - Repair. Let the repair tool version you back a patch, then try running the patcher again.
