I tried to clean up my deskop... but unfortunately, I had installed winrar on my deskop. I copied it to another folder, then tried to remove the original folder, but when I dd that, it wouldn't delete this file named "rarext.dll" because it's "open in another program" -.- I have tried to rename it and then delete it (and make it a .jpg- file), not working, I can't put it in recycler because I "need permission"...

    halp?

Uninstall WinRAR > Reinstall WinRAR in new directory (the one you moved it to) > Reboot PC

You can't just rename a .dll file and turn it into a jpg, you can change the extension though.

First I would try finding out what program is using the file your trying to delete and shutting down or un-installing that program and then trying to delete it.

You could also try un-installing Winrar like Imagine. suggested and then completely deleting both folders.

Might as well react now that the thread seems useless: you shouldn't give rep just for the sake of giving rep. That makes the entire system useless. However, people should use it more often. Jon used to have about 117 rep if I recall correctly. That's a good indicator for the rest of the forum.

hijackthis has a delete on reboot option.

    killbox may also work.
