Can you rank up leagues even if you lose?

Hi, if you lose a league match but you lost to a very good player, do you still gain "points" to rank up in that match?

No, you will just lose less points than against even players. But you can promote to a higher league even when losing a game. I guess that's because ingame stuff like APM are considered when evaluating players.

same here i got promoted after i loss a 5 game win streak! so losing is still ok!

 

1. No you cant get promoted after LOSING a match where the hell did you come up with that?
2. Blizzard has said COUNTLESS times that In-game stats do not in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM determine who you play or what your rank is

 

Your getting promoted due to lag in the system i assume or the ratios in each league change.

 

If you LOSE you do not gain any points, no matter how good the player is. If the player is really good, you will lose 0 points when losing. So losing to good players does not help you go up in rank.

Just to clarify, you CAN get promoted immediately after a loss, yes. I have several times. But those were after long win-streaks at rank 1 of the league. This is because it evaluates for league promotion only every 15 games so, so when it came up time to check for promotions it saw something like 13 wins and 2 losses, so it promoted me even though the last two losses were the most recent games.
