Anyone know? They say you can warp in units where there is warp power, can you also build anywhere where there is warp power? If so, how would it feel landing a probe and placing some Photon Cannons at your opponent's minerals? Temporarily restoring un-powered buildings?

Yes but your opponent would have to be pretty retarded lol. but i suppose as maybe a movebable force if you have resourses to throw away just build a gateway but i think id rather warp in units.

yes, one of the functions is giving temporary power to unpowered buildings. not a very good idea though, because warp prisms are both much more fragile and more expensive than pylons. you want to leave this thing in a pretty safe location.

if you've teched up to warp prisms, your opponent probably has at least a few AA units and will be able to take that thing down before the cannons are even half built. it only takes a few seconds to warp in some units though, a quick hit-and-run is better.

I have another question: If you have a building that is being warped in, then the Warp Prism is destroyed, does the building keep warping in, or does it 'un' warp?

That's a good question, I will have to test it when I get a chance.

Judging by Terran logic it will be at a standstill, but conventional logic suggests it would cut off the connection with where ever it's being warped from, canceling the warp.

    I don't think you understand.

If a building is warping in, it's not actually there yet.
If power was cut off as it was being warped in, would it be halted in a state of construction, or would it simply un-warp and disappear, as if being canceled?

I think I can answer that since it's in the realm of un-logic and un-based speculation :)

You see you only need the Pylon Power to establish a stable worm hole, then it draws power from the universe itself while the building that is warped in will also need the Pylon Power to run it simply warps in and is immediately un-powered. If a building took longer than 38 minutes to warp in though we'd have a big problem :p

If, you are going void rays or some other air, and they mass ground, that warp prism will give your stargates that extra time they need to build in the event of a ground rush on your pylons. I have used this several times against zerg players that have caught me offguard. its really just a stopgap till the air units pop out, because they can always just kill the stargate.

If the powers gets cut while anything is being warped in, the warp cancels and you loose your recourses.

Still, it can be quite effective when creating a (third) expo. You can quickly set up some tech buildings and/or cannons before your pylon there is even finished. Other then that, you can use it to harass players from cliffs along their base/expo, if they haven't gotten air units yet. Put a probe in there and have your cannons up and running 2 times as fast. Then re-deploy the prism behind their base and start warping in units, while they desperately try to reveal you cannons. :p

(note that i'm not exactly a brilliant player, so this probably won't work in the higher leagues ^^)
