Can you destroy watchtowers?

    That blows, they should make it so you can, killing the ones closet to enemy base would be good tactic.

    Though Im sure once players start releasing maps they won't use the towers..

    I think these should be used, at least in early games. They grant large vision of the battlefield which is efficient in planning your moves.

    You can always make them not invincible in a UMS map. I wonder what the destruction animation for them is.

    Seems too gimicky, I rly doubt the towers will be placed on player made maps.
    Sorry I just can't stop thinking bout it..

    Maybe make them capturable, maybe..

    A better move would be to capture or fortify them. Because, yes, they are capturable- it's the whole point. It's just that the enemy can take it away from you if they kill all the units that are holding it.
    Only one player can user the tower at a time, so it might as well be you.

    Speak for yourself, please. I'd definitely use them.

    I never said they weren't usefull I just don't see ppl putting them in Custom made maps..

    people not putting them in custom maps = them not being usefull

    at least I think so.

    no thats not wut I mean, if the map has them you gotta use them to be effective, but Im sure there will be a crowd that doesn't want them, to make the game more like sc1.

    Thats what I mean, I will be the one trying to play maps without them.

    I think you have a great missunderstanding in the community.
    Im pretty sure every mapmaker out there would LOVE to use the knew features - for example the watchtower.

    So your saying that there will be no amount of people that play maps without them?

    I doubt that.

    I don't like neutural buildings, maybe make it so every race has some type of buildable sensor tower, then Id be ok with it.

    Yes yes I know sc2 is a different game, but the scouting techniques and tactics were just fine in sc1.

    Take a look of the number of neutral buildings in competive starcraft.

    I say that I dont think there will be any competive or ladder maps without them.

    Wait, How many neutral building where actually useable or capaturable in Sc1?

    Like I know you can destroy them to get different positions and use different tactics? But nothing close to what the watch tower adds..

    I don't rememeber seeing any in any of the gomtv games...

    You dont think the destroyeble temples in Medusa add as much as the Watch Tower?
    And actually does it matter? You think its dangerous for the game that the watch tower is used or what?
    Ok you say you dont have anything against it, but add that you dont think map-makers will use it. Why is that?

    Anything that can be destroyed is fine, because it doesn't give you vision likes its your unit or you built it..

    I don't know, I guess I just don't understand why they added them..
