Hey all, I have been using the 9 supply rax marine rush to harass I have won 4 out of 4 on small maps like steppes. Anyway I have been trying a reaper rush but I keep failing. Please point me in the right direction or if someone wants to play a 1-1 practice so I can see first hand please let me know. My I'd is wolverine in game. Thanks.
Reaper rush really depends on how well you can micro. If you try to harass for too long without doing any damage, they'll build enough to counter. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the build is 10: Refinery 10: Barracks 1!: Supply Depot Then Tech Lab asap and pump your first Reaper rallied to the side of his base. Have the first Reaper kill a few probes without dying. By the time you have 3-4, your opponent should really be worried.
I got thoroughly raped by someone who was pumping out marauders and marines while microing 2 reapers. It was a great build i picked up, but u really need to not get tunnel vision and forget about making M&Ms while harassing. 7 scout (if necessary playing a random) some ppl may argue that its too early, but whatever 10 rax 10 gas (get 3 scvs in there asap) 10 supply 10 orbital command 10 techlab -> reaper as soon as techlab is done 12 nitro boost 12 2nd rax and 2nd reaper 14 supply 14 marauder & marine 17 stim on and on by the time ur two reapers get to ur opponents base, generally nitro will be done researching. keep ur barracks macroed and keep pumping out M&Ms while ur microing reapers and you should be fine. This works amazingly well agaisnt toss, well against Terran, Zerg on the other hand . . . id say ur odds are better off with hellion harassing.
Reaper harass is the best against Protoss and Terran. They eat up SCVs and Probes. Pylons go down quick if you have 3 - 4 or more. Marines aren't really anything to worry about since Reapers can chew through them if the numbers are on your side. Against Terran, you typically want to pull out when they get anything stronger than a Marine out. Against Protoss, you can dance around Zealots all you want. Pull out when there's a Stalker in play. For bonus points, see if you can jack any Pylons and set him back 100 minerals and some supply. Zerg... are kind of tricky. If he has Zerglings available, they'll eat up your Reapers with their Creep move speed bonus. Queens can fend off Reapers too, but once or twice I've managed to actually destroy a Zerg's Spawning Pool and some drones. Whenever it looks like your Reapers won't be able to do much anymore, pull them out and use the Tech Lab'd Barracks to throw out Marauders. If you have more than one Reaper left, give it a litlte bit. Send one to the Xel'naga tower closest to your enemy base. Use any remaining ones to scout out their base to see what they're building.
