I am slightly confused by your question.

    I'll try to answer.

If you pre order now, you will get nothing extra except if the location is doing a midnight launch.

You will install Starcraft 2. You won't need the disc again.

Edit: Nice avatar, only pro's use that one ;)

Not so. What if you want to play SC2 at your mates place. You'll need to install it on his computer. You'll need the disc to install it there or if you threw away the disc you'l have to download it from Blizzard which takes a time and is a waste of bandwidth cause you already bought the game on disc. Also no disc does equal no resell value. But I am pretty sure if you're buying SC2 now you will not be selling it for a very long time, if ever at all.

And if your hard drive crashes and you need a reformat or a re-install of the OS, you can use the disc to install SC2 again. But you will not lose any of your achievements and won't have to re-do any single player levels (unless you want to of cause) cause all that kind of data is kept on the Battle.net servers. Kind of like how WoW is now.

Sure with the new Battle.Net you don't need the disc in the drive to play the game. WHich is good as over use of discs scratches them. But if anything happens or you want to play at a mates house you'll wish you had kept the disc.

Actually, I think you can re-download the game from your battle.net account if you have it added, so installation software is also retrievable.

And I think your CD-key is attached to your Battle.net account so in order to re-sell it you would need to sell or delete your Battle.net account.
