I've been playing sc2 for a few months but have gotten better and am now in 1st of bronze. However I can't seen to rank up to silver, how would I go about doing that. additional info: 310 acheiv points 1437 points 199 wins 179 losses 1st place
You have a ~52% win ratio, which means that you are about steady in your playing. You have to start winning more games than you lose for a consistent amout of time(for example, win 30 of the next 40 games) in order to go up. That's a way to get a feel on what you want to achieve. Basicly the only way to go up is winning more and that can be achieved by 2 ways, getting better or cheesing: I'd suggest the first one... Just focus on keeping your fundamentals in good shape and improving on them(keep your production up, keep making workers, don't make more buildings than you can support or less than you can support, spend your money, don't queue things up, and don't get supply blocked) and when you improve you will notice an increase in the win ratio that will come naturally and then up you'll go... Also before ranking up be prepared for a losing streak. My 2 rankups came both at the time I was through a losing streak, and it seems kinda natural, since the game matches you against stronger opponents till you start losing so it determines which kinds of opponents are "out of your league" and therefore position you 1 step below. That was a kinda rough explanation, though, if you make a search around you'll find a link on a very good explanation on how the system works... Once you have more points then rank 99 silver than you will gain rank. So basically just win more than you lose.
I'm in the same boat. I'm silver, trying for gold in 2 v 2. out of my last 15 games, I've lost 3. Been looking up my opponents after each round, and most have been higher ranks than me, even going so far as be beating diamond-platinum team. how many more wins would it likely take to hop up a league? I'm at 71 win to 58 loss. Cheers, Scott
