My question is whether baneling still do AOE damage when they are killed instead of self detonate. I like to plant burrowed baneling at choke points to booty trap any incoming army. However there is a slight 0.5 second for baneling to unburrow and maybe half of them would be wiped by marines before surfacing. (they don't have scanner or detector) So my question is do the baneling that gets killed instead of self detonate (died right underneath the enemy pack) still do damage? Or did I just lost half of baneling for nothing. thanks
If a baneling dies, it makes its explosion, no matter if it its from its own will or a marines Gauss Rifle.
Banelings always do damage when they die, no matter how they die. It's pretty easy to see in smaller skirmishes; I realized it the first Prophecy mission, wherein my Stalkers were still taking damage before Banelings even got close enough to detonate.
Greetings fellow Zerg player. Be advised that burrowed Banelings can be detonated without unburrowing them. Now go forth and destroy the foul humans!
