board slowness

I'm getting frequent time outs / mysql connect errors / 500 Internal Server Errors today as guest numbers have climbed to 500+

Currently, only about 1 in 10 page requests are completing, meaning it is taking in excess of 10 minutes to successfully click through to the Questions&Feedback forum and begin writing a simple post like this.

As the game gets more players throughout the next few days and weeks, this can only get worse. The site may be next to unusable for some time to come.


So I'm wondering if there is a contingency plan to upgrade the hosting? Or is there anything else you can do or suggest to improve this situation?

I think the only choice for the time being is to wait it out - seems like the priority is that damn launch party 128-man tournament. @Admins: Why does the normal front page have to take a backseat to the tourney sign-up?
