So i play protoss..and anytime i play terran all they do is wall themselves in and have lots of siege tanks and marines and then just get banshees and pwn my probes and pylons..its so annoying..what can i do v terran as a protos player anyone?
If they're 1basing then take the opportunity to control the map. Expand and make a cannon at your mineral like to spot banshees and have some stalkers/sentries near your base to defend or just warp in stuff to defend. You don't need to attack if they're walled off in their main, just take expos, keep making probes on all your nexi and any excess resources you can't spend on building workers or building an army spend on upgrades and building production buildings. Also scouting: If he denies you scouting then make a few observers(not just one) and have them scout the possible areas he can sneak banshees from, scout his base and his front and see what you can do from there. Turtling players are quite easy to beat by expanding and outmacroing them, generally.
Im guessing your a bronze or silver player. anyways, by the time they get banshees out you should have stalkers and observers out. And if you don't, you just need to get faster. Whenever I get a T that walls in I expand alot and make warp prisms to drop zealots in their back. You can also go fast colussi and use the cliffs to out micro them, just need an observer ahead of it.
2 gate robo get out 2 observers (one for their base and one for yours against banshees) and do a warp prism drop on their mineral lines, yeah nice you just owned them.
yes, get out obs. then expo, gain map control (good to make lotta obs and spread them out if u can), get colossi, make zlot + some stalkers, go up to base, blink in (colossi can see up cliffs, use obs if u want), snipe tanks with stalkers and colossi as zlots break wall down, gg. immortals help a lot
Two cannon on each mineral field to stop sneak attacks and expand aggreively if he turtles. Don't feel a need to break into his base, sooner or latter he'll run out of resources and have to leave his fortress of doom.
I don't play protoss as much as I do zerg, but I can play them both at diamond level, anyways if you want to get fancy you could even bring in a mock army to make the terran send his units down his ramp into his natural expansion and then do your warp prism drop on his mineral lines and guardian shield the ramp and roll all his workers, the bad side effect to this though is if he decides to say "f$% it and try and trade bases with you, just make sure you're able to defend it.
if a terran walls in with tanks ect then its going to take some time to also get banshee with cloak, in this time you should take map control. to do this build phoenixes they can grab scvs and harras and kill banshees well, and since they move very quickly 3 basing isnt to difficult then throw some unit at him till he dies ( doesnt matter what it is when you one 3 base vs 1 base
I can never understand why Terran players in the lower levels wall themselves in completely against either Terran or Protoss. All it does is provide free shots at whatever buildings you've used to block your choke, when a bunker or two is all that's needed. As the others have said, start off with 2 warpgate into robo bay with observers if you scout him early going heavy gas. You will have around 6-7 mins before the first banshee to arrive so prepare, but don't go overboard with defense by building cannons everywhere as some do.Have some stalkers ready with an observer for vision or two cannons max. After this you can transition into a 4 warp gate. Often an early banshee is just harrass material, so don't think it's going to be a massive armada and build just to counter that one unit type.
Sounds about right, I usually transition my 2 gate robotics into 4 gate collosus (with expansion of course) after I deny him of banshee harass, he usually goes mass bio with some tanks - vikings and medivacs.
Expand, take the map, make lots of void rays and destroy him. Conversely i seem to come up against turtling Protoss players who go Void rays a lot of the time of late. Also came up against a turtling Zerg too which i found very bizarre, built about 20 spine crawlers but sadly (for them) no detection 3 ghosts with 3 nukes do a nice bit of damage when all the buildings are all clustered around one lair, wish i had saved the replay it was one of the most bizarre games i have ever seen
