Normally I'm not much of a critic of Blizzard's methods. Sure, they're mysterious, sometimes they're late, and surely they never tell us quite what we want to hear, but for the most part their development is very open. I've also been a huge fan and supporter of the BlizzCast series, and I've been pushing heavily for a video series.

But I think I can say that it is a bit peeving when BlizzCast #7 is released with absolutely no information regarding StarCraft 2. I realize we're in the minority, but at least some covering of the topic would be fun. In case you're a WoW fan, here's a large amount of development drivel.

    Enjoy! Kind of.

Isn't it Blizzcast #5? ANd yes that does suck!

  3. Hahaha! The topic title made me fear for the worst. I'd thought that they announced some terrible news in BlizzCast 7 or something.

But, as far as the lack of information, I see it in a different way. It seems to be a bit like the cam before the storm. The storm being the beta. Due to a post by Dustin Browder on the Battle.net forums (in which he hinted that the developers were especially busy making the game), I'm convinced that the developers are working to finish as much as they can before the beta and to get as much done in as short amount of time.

The real reason I'm upset is that BlizzCast was initially developed by the SC2 community team. They could at the very least do the game the honor of mentioning it's status in development or putting in some commentary about the changes.

It seems unfair that everything turns into WoW.

They are really preparing for a massive burst of infomation plus a beta date soon so they decided not to destroy our appetite for infomation ;).

There isn't much interesting or new SC2 info in any of the other blizzcasts except maybe the first anyway.

Meh, it was bound to happen sometime. Besides, if there's nothing to be said about StarCraft2 or Diablo3, it shouldn't stop them talking about World of WarCraft. It's all just a matter of perspective. I mean, most of us are saying it's a bad BlizzCast, but if it was pure StarCraft2 information, without anything on Diablo or WarCraft, then what would that be? Good or bad?

Still, you'd think they'd say something. They told us about unique deaths recently, didn't they? Like infantry burning up, Overlords getting peppered with bullets and Hydras getting sliced up by Dark Templar? They could have elaborated a bit more on that, but still, it probably wouldn't've been enough to be worth it.

WoW the biggest Blizz money maker and the least interesting franchise.

I really wish WoW never happened. I don't care that the funds fill Blizz's coffers. What's the point when they spill all the gold into a aged repetitive MMO that followed a mediocre RTS?

I don't look at them too.

And I hope too that they don't speak about SC2 now to make the surprise of the beta. You know when there is just some details to do, you don't show them immediatly because in some days you will show all the project. That is just my hope and I certainly dream.

  15. World Of WarCraft is funding StarCraft II and Diablo III so stop your whining. We owe WoWies a lot when you think about if in an unbiased way.

Yeah, and just let them play there WOW, so we dont have them in "our" game :)

  17. What's wrong with them playing "our" game?

I'm, of course, assuming that they are allowed only to play the game but not to influence it's development too much.

wow could lick my balls after a good hard hockey game. but think 10miilllion people minium 60$ a person or more closer to 70-80 you do the math. and say half of them at paying a monthly rate and the other 5million are just first time buyers and never got into it. 15$ a month X 12 months X 5,000,000 nerds = $900,000,000

    10,000,000 people X $70 inital purchase with 3 months online =$700,000,000

    900,000,000 + 700,000,000= 1.5billion even if blizzard gets 5% of that its still $75,000,000

that they recieved from a ****ty ass game. just makes me think that i could hire some but**** development team for 8 bucks an hour and rack in millions. lmao

lets not mention the merchandise sales. $$$

  19. *facepalm*

    No.

Have you even played WoW? Anyways, if this wasn't Blizzard then you would have a point but this is Blizzard so them getting richer is only good since their standard of quality only gets higher.

well the games poorly created you gotta pay to get around the map and to new towns, and actually wait for you to show up there on your stupid gryphon intead of like oblivion which is game of the year and just click and it loads and your there as long as you have been there befor. for FREE if it was a MMORPG oblivion would be hands down best game ever created
