Blizzard has released BlizzCast 4, the next in the series of the BlizzCast podcasts. This BlizzCast focuses mostly on World of Warcraft and some design elements within it. As far as StarCraft related information, there are two sections to direct your attention to. Don't skip too quickly past the first section with an interview with Russel Brower, the director of Video and Art for Blizzard. He talks about writing and producing music for World of Warcraft, but a lot of the information is insightful and can be applied to other franchises, like StarCraft 2. Section two and three isn't quite as interesting for the StarCraft 2 fan, so you can skip through to the last section where two StarCraft 2 fansite questions are asked and the answers provide great information about the new game. Mike Heiberg and David Kim have a fascinating discussion about the decisions surrounding the new mineral and gas systems in StarCraft 2 and how they affect the gameplay. Then they also discuss the infestation mechanics of the game, and despite going off topic a few times, provide a good layout of the abilities. Enjoy BlizzCast 4 here! Or download it directly here! Meh.. I was hoping for more StarCraft info ... 47 minutes of World of WarCraft, then just a few minutes of StarCraft 2 .. So sad
Oh well, 8 minutes of SC2 info is better than nothing. Hurray for better pathfinding! no more units with episodic retardation. Infestation - meh, I just hope that Infested Marines are produced using the original 20 second mechanic, rather than producing a set number like it was when Broodlings were made. Corruption - appparently I didn't get the memo. Does the unit just die after a set amount of time like the Broodling, or does its health deteriorate over time? I still think corruption should be permanent, but if it has to be temporary, then the units should last at least a minute, at most two minutes. same with Infested Marine lifespan.
You can already see it in some of the vids from WWI. The pathfinding has clearly been improved, and why wouldn't it? All RTS games have good pathfinding nowadays, why would SC2 take a step backwards?
Are you kidding me? How did you miss this already. I've seen it twice. I'm so spoiled that I can barely play SCBW. LOL
So much for being a wizards stallions brother to know about... ^_^ LOTR - Gandalf's stallion = Shadowfox SC2forums - Shadohax = Missing brother Dont take it roughly man, im just playing.. anyway I take it as a + change for the units being smarter.
You mean shadowfax......I think... Good name btw...oh, and welcome. I hate WoW even more now. Funny how WarCraft is the franchise that gave blizzard legs yet is it the one I can just barley tolerate. *Proud to be a former 70 lock that erased all traces of WoW and addons from his hard drive*
The World of War craft games very interesting. now a days in that games are very changed with a help of Maya, Max multi media etc.. I really enjoyed the site and the wow warcraft. ----------------- shanker Wow Gold
