Blizzard's Propaganda Contest

Hey everyone, I'm a new member here on the sc2forums. I was just browsing the web for sc2 stuff and came about this site and noticed the art section, so I decided to join As for some background on me as a player, I was a 1.9k plat terran before the new elo system was implemented. Like most of you (I hope) I decided to do something more productive while the beta was down, so I completed this last night:

My only complaint would be the fact that I can't read what's behind his head. But besides that it looks great. I particularly like the text placement on the bottom.

 

thanks yeah, I agree with you on the text thing, it's supposed to say "for only together shall we succeed" - mengsk. But I did this because I imagined that in the sc galaxy there woulda been already thousands of posters like this with the slogan all over the place, so some posters can have images over lapping familiar parts of text. kinda like how magazines sometimes have parts of their titles covered up nowadays.

 

This just shows how much I'm unfamiliar with SC and its memorable lines...
I like the submission... possibly silly question, but is this from scratch, hand drawn? And have you tried the text with a stroke? That might not be the solution to what I feel about the text (can't quite put my finger on it), but it's a guess. And I think the dominion logo would be better at its stock angle as it's a symbol of the dominion... I don't think we've often seen rotated swastikas and eagles and ahem agricultural tools

 

Mildly put off by the fact that there's text on his codpiece.

 

Minus the text behind the head and text on the crotch its good.
