Yeah, right! And the other two just happened to match a big event date by chance? They were holding the other two, for sure. Terrans were released way before being ready, as we don't even know if Firebats, Thors or Predators will remain. We don't know of the Ghosts abilities or Nomads'. And yet Ghosts and Thors were released on an event and on the main site.

Even if Zergs aren't ready, this wouldn't be an excuse.

The day they announce the zerg is the day I pass out, fall to the floor and make an ass out of myself

    Keeping the approximate time schedule:

    May 2007 - Starcraft 2 Announcement / Protoss Released
    August 2007 - BlizzCon / Terran Released
    December 2007 - X Event / Zerg Released

Is there even a big event in December, January, or February? I would be willing to bet that we will definitely see Zerg before it gets too far into 2008.

Well, think with me for a second, I think I know why they are keeping the information:

Suppose they release the Zergs now. People love it, and are dieing to play it. Blizzard says the game isn't ready, as verified in an internal demo. However, fans have been watching and don't see any reason why the current game wouldn't work. Will people wait or massacre their ears so they release it once and for all?

"Fix it later with patches!", that's what they'll say. And they would be forced to either release the game in an unready state, or live with the complaints of those who happened to prefer the old, and yet worse configuration without ever having even played it. I say they know what they're doing! ^_^

No real gamer would ever suggest that a game should be released before it is ready. A game that is released unpolished will be cursed by bad reviews and will be in severe danger of not living up to its potential. Also, Blizzard has a track record of only releasing polished games, to their credit. I don't think they'd give in to idiots who want them to release an unfinished game.

Yeah, you have a point. I still think they would go for the not releasing till it is ready option too. Then I guess there can be one left possibility in my mind: they want us to really believe that Zerg aren't ready, and surprise us in an event, in order to enhance the WOW factor that they so much care for.

If we think that the game was made in this tiny bit of time, we'll a) not curse about the game faults so hard, and b) will see Blizzard co. with much better eyes, seeing how they did so much in a short time span.

Either this or they do not want others to steal their Zerg ideas before the game is released. xD

But neither of these arguments is really convincing to myself. I don't have a clue as to why would they hide the Zerg.

cant they just let us see their progress on the zerg so far? i mean, come on, at least show us some of the zerg units that you've made so far. its kinda unfair that you show terran and toss and not show zerg simultaneously, and thats the only race im nice at using......... show some zergs!!!!!!!!

I agree. I personally don't like games that require patches in the future coz that will be a real hussle. It would be better if they released the game in a final state so I won't mind if they make the release date on 2009, which I find unlikely of course.

In Chrismas they will show the Zergs... I think, the zerg will be amazing, bether than Terrans and Protoss, the Buildings have live, and they's can move. And the Mutalisk will have a new evolution, a Fusion with the Guardian and Devourer, and they makes an very powerful unit, life the Mothership and BattleCruiser, but in the zerg.

    That is my idea =)

    I CAN'T WAIT THE ZERGS!!!!

I wanted Zerg for Chrismas, but I am losing faith. If it is as late as February, I'll go mad.
But they showed the Overlord, so it can't be that long, can it?

I would seriously see the zerg as the hardest race to create

Especially the buildings, as they are supposed to be somekinds of giant living structures
