Blizzard Petition for Open Beta

I won't. What makes you think you can demand anything?

An open beta would only make SC2 look like a cheap ***** that anyone can have. A closed beta would make the game a special treat and further raise the hype about it.

 

This is one of the least thought through most pointless peices of drivel i have seen for a while regarding SC2 and will in no way endorse it! TOTAL PEICE OF ****** ******** ******* *** ^$)(&%)(*# 0010010011 !!

The game is still in a state where the developers change things every few weeks merely due to on site testers. 80000 testers at this stage of development would not really contribute any ideas which are not pretty obvious already. Everything is still on the chopping block and i'm sure ideas are constantly being thrown around by the developers concerning every issue.

Even if i'm not in the closed beta i would prefer it remained closed than the whole world complaining argueing and bashing blizzard whenever they find bugs or want things changed. A small dedicated group of testers is far more efficent and effective.

Your idea is really just an excuse for everyone to play an early, larger, cheaper (free) demo of the game.

But seriously, you can't rush stuff like this. Putting such pressure on them would only force them to come up with an acceptable version, and by acceptable I mean completely balanced, etc, etc. Otherwise, everyone's going to hate it. Not only will they be swamped with "OMG THESE GUYS ARE TOO POWERFUL WHY DON'T YOU NERF THEM" but then they'll have to find some other way to do all the things they do while it's still closed. It's like asking for an announcement trailer of a game that they've literally just started that day. It just doesn't work like that.

I'm not 100% sure on how all these petitions work, but delete it if you can. If it has any effect, it'll be a negative one, delaying the release and making people hate it.

 

Totally agree with marinefreak!!! Think about an Open Beta... all ppl would start complaining and arguing.. everyone having different oppinions... just let Blizzard take their time and make one of the best games ever (if not the best). Everyone has high expectations! Rushing things will not make the game better, it would make it worse!

Please please PLEASE don't make threads like this, really. It's not a "must" to read a petition for something that's not going to happen. Obviously you do not realize what kind of time and dedication it takes into programming a very balanced, and creative RTS such as Starcraft.

Also, tip on the forums - don't make thread names so...descriptive. I don't think everyone likes the whole CAPS WAIT no!!! WAIT...CAPS again wait no1!111! That is of course, unless you guys want me to start posting everything like this.

Also, they have released demos... at BlizzCon 07 and WWI.

 

Or you know, we could not throw grains of sand at a titan of gaming.

 

It'll only be good once it's been balanced and tested. If they give an untested game to us, it's going to suck and they'll be hit with a barrage of opinions, complains, suggestions, queries, spam, hate mail, etc, etc, not to mention that it would just ruin a great thing for us as it would be completely incomplete and unbalanced. Why would you even want an unfinished game? Besides, it's not as though Blizzard hasn't given us anything good, like you seem to be implying. StarCraft1 is still awesome despite being archaic, WarCraft3 is just as awesome, then along with Diablo2 and World of WarCraft... If anything they deserve a break. They've given us enough already so why pressure them and potentially ruin or, at the very least, delay the release of yet another awesome game?
