    While
we've known this has been in the works for quite a while, it's now
official. Blizzard has taken control of the Diablo3.com domain name.
While this is purely speculation and could "possibly" be attributed to
Blizzard "protecting its interests" a development like this so shortly
before a large conference like WWI certainly has raised my eyebrow.

    In
any case, I've been speculating about Diablo 3's (or another Diablo
franchise) unveiling at WWI in June. This is clearly another indication
of that possibility. A great day fro Diablo fans!

This is all according to a news post on Diablofans.com,
the previous owners of Diablo3.com a well established Diablo fansite.
They claim that Diablo3.com will continue redirecting to their site for
a few more months or "until they're ready to use it for something more
worthwhile." I think as far as something more worthwhile, we might know
    about that on June 28th.

    Hmm

Well they didn't buy Starcraft2.com until around the time WC3 was released and work began on SC2 so that might mean D3 is only just getting started.

I love me some Diablo, so this is great news for me. I can see myself wasting many a days on this.

Interesting, even though I don't play Diablo. It is always exciting when a well-known game's sequel is announced.

We should make a Warcraft4.com so when they decide to make it they'll buy it from us.

Keep in mind that Google owns
    EssentialMommy.com,
    GooglePorn.com,
    GooglePoo.com,
    TheSecretofBurritos.com,
and many more (http://royal.pingdom.com/?p=280) URLs. I doubt any of those are going to become services any time soon.

    That's been taken since 2001.

They probably have it about finished, just waiting for SCII to stay out for a while. They probably have SCII done as well, just pretending to alpha test it.

    Hurray for Diablo 3!
    Hurray for necromancers!

There are lots of people who buy domain names waiting for someone else who actually wants to use it. Doesn't really seem right to me. That's enterprise I guess.

lol, my friend had a boss when he worked at EBgames that bought up a ton of everquest 2 related domain names when it was announced. He never was able to sell a single one of them. I guess no one ever told him about WoW.

Hehe Samir, that ''just after this game'' is like 2 years. Sc '98, Diablo 2 '00.

But I hope they will be able to create as unique experience as D2 was when it came out :)
Diablo is dead and the soul shard shattered... Baby D will suceed to Big D?

With that soul shard thing shattered they might've just "reset" the world to a state before the events of both diablo games (Similar to FF1)
With the ending of Diablo 2 LoD Blizzard gave themselves a lot of freedom regarding sequel's plot

You know, I always thought Diablo was more suited to mamorpagahs (MMORPGs) than Warcraft ever was. Granted, I hope it isn't. I hate mamorpagahs with a solid passion

Blizzards not dumb, They wouldn't release another MMORPG of the same content, otherwise it'll just be a stick within a pile of sticks (not mud, because, some people would notice the stick). No one would be interested. When D3 is put forth, it will probably have the same aspects of D2 with more multiplayer interaction, but not enough to be a real MMO.

I dont understand whats up with all the MMORPGs? Why would Blizzard make World of Diablo and World of Starcraft? It makes no sence. Sure it would be - interesting... but from a realist point of view not doable and definetly not worth doing. I like the way things are now. Starcraft/Warcraft RTS, WoW MMORPG and Diablo RPG.
