Blizzard officially launches the beta.

Unfortunately they are releasing the beta for the wrong game.

Anyone gonna sign up? It might be worth it, or whatever. Who wishses it was the SC2 beta instead. (We can see where Blizzard's priorities are).

 

I wish it were StarCraft II.

Wrath of the Lich King is an expansion; it's no surprise it will probably come out first.

 

No, this thread is about Blizzard's beta release schedule. THis was not addressed to WoW players. Have fun playing SC2 in 2011, Wick ;p.

 

Seriously, why the hell do you assume I want SC2 to be released in 2011? Everyone, including me, wants the game out as soon as possible.

Also, change the title. It's misleading and annoying.

 

You kept on stating that you wanted the game to be close as possible to perfect "polished" balance before it goes retail. When it is released, it won't be perfectly balanced, that will be at least 1-2 years before it gets reasonably well balanced. (THere will be dominating strategies for awhile).

 

READ, will you? It won't kill you. Close as possible, not perfect. There's a big difference. It's impossible to balance it perfectly without releasing the game, just because some errors can't be found without a large group of testers. Of course there will be domineering strats until they fix them. But SC1 has been considered to be reasonably well balanced when it came out even though it had some cheap strategies (Mutalisks, most definitely) and "close as possible" means at the level of SC1's.

 

Once again, close as possible to good balance would be a 2010 release at best. Learn to TYPE will you. XD

Once again, you show your ineptitude for reasoning, logic, and just about every other function that requires you to think. If you READ my post, you would know exactly what I mean by "close as possible to good balance" would be. I'm done arguing with people like you who have no idea what they're talking about. Great that at least 1 BETA is comming, perhaps another will follow.

 

I think the beta of Starcraft 2 will come in the area of January 2009.

So .... the official game will come probably in June 2009 !

Just wait for one more year please .... Unfortunately there will be of course a wave of patches for this game. The first version will not be the perfect version. We had to wait until now to get THE best version of Starcraft 1.

 

SS Jon thinks BETA is October, and Prodigal and I have been speculating too, and we both think the game will come out this year!

Warcraft III's beta test took 4-6 months. If the beta started in October, it would be early 2009 (probably) before StarCraft II sees the light of day.

As for the SC2 beta being in October that sounds reasonable. They still claim it is pre alpha and I wouldn't expect them to start beta when they still change around the units every week.
Realistically SC2 won't be out until sometime next year. I would hazard to guess it will be out in June or July

Because half the people here are talking about the WotLK beta, there was some flaming, the title is misleading, and there's already one about the SC II beta

 

Did you read my reply to the topic where I asked you about what you wanted to discuss? no? You could at least have answered that it was the sc2 beta you wanted to discuss, something you didnt point out in you original post.
